For all believers: I have a serious question

in some instances god apparently led the way with his might arm.. this is not a question of wether it is right or wrong, but moreso a question(s) of:.

1. if you were there would you have personally participated in those killings or would you ignore the commands?.

An added thought, these ones weren't just committing genocide in the name of Jehovah. They were vindicating and sanctifying Jehovah's name. They were fighting for Jehovah's honor, to show him to be a jealous God, the only one worthy of worship. Again, JWs do this today in spiritual warfare, no matter what the cost.

Unfortunately today, Jehovah doesn't provide the physical protection as he apparently did for his Israelite nation. No, he protects us spiritually, just as shown in the past drama. So it doesn't matter if you get raped, murdered, etc. in the course of your spiritual warfare. Jehovah will remember you.

I'm not currently a believer, but yes, without a doubt, yes.

Why? Because my God told me to do so. He had proven himself to be my God through mighty acts and had now asked me to be his right hand man in executing justice among the nations. Being brainwashed, I would gladly do whatever God said to do. I've been there, done that, in a sense as a JW.

Aren't JWs basically doing the same today, just without the bloodshed? Many that are converted out of their "worldly" religion to the JW faith can consider themselves as good as dead if they fall prey to the cult mentality. And the JW that converted him could easily be considered as one who took the life of that one. Because we all know from our time in as JWs, we had no life.

They probably received a letter from the WTBTS legal department telling them to cease and desist their operations unless they want to be prosecuted. That's what happened to one site that was hosting the Daily Text, also ran by an active JW.

atleast that is what a group of jw's discussed on my wifes facebook account.

this is not the first time it has happened but it really took off this morning.. one sister says, "i was watching family guy with kids and the dog took home a human to have sex with.

We were instilled with a sense of humor by God. So we can reasonably conclude that Jesus also has a sense of humor. Therefore, Jesus would no doubt find Family Guy funny as Seth makes fun of all the things wrong in the world, especially with the JWs.

Hell, the first ever Family Guy joke was about JWs.

I'm not too interested in saving dubs. I'm mainly interested in preventing others from being assimilated.

By saving a dub, you're saving all the people they could try to assimilate in the future. JWN, JWFacts, and JWSurvey saved this dub from trying to assimilate any more people.

Good deductions Martini. For me, I'm hesitant to focus in on particular scriptures as the basis for study. It gives the appearance that you have preconceived ideas of a scripture and are not learning this with her. When I start, I'm going to start at Acts since this is most relevant to us as Christians today. Then after we make it through Revelation, start and go through Genesis - John. Acts to John is only 200 pages so that should be an easy study to get through in a couple of months. In the course of doing this, you can easily touch on Martini's and others suggestions throughout JWN as you reach those scriptures.

i read about the new tract distribution and thought to myself how should i react, when they come to my door.

finally today, after finishing my morning coffee, i got an idea!

i'll take the tract, look at it, look at them, and with a nice smile rip it up and hand it back to them with :"have a great day!

To each his own. I personally wouldn't because it's disrespectful. Just because JWs are disrespectful by coming to your door at all hours of the morning doesn't mean you should be the same to them.

But if you do, a comment about "Can this tract come back to life" might be appropriate as you hand it back to them.

I see this as an improvement for those who are fading. Now you can easily get placements by running up to a door and stuffing a tract in. No talking required for placements anymore.

In line with your thought though, it would be nice if there was an online resource for us ex-JWs (in heart) to use in helping our families that provides a linear discussion of the Bible (at least Acts - Revelation) and provides questions for critical thinking that exposes JW thinking versus TTATT. So for anyone that has the ability to do such, i.e. has the knowledge, such a project would be very beneficial to our community. I saw a resource where this was done for the book "What Does The Bible Really Teach" and wish that I had this when we last studied it at the congregation.

I'm like you, still trying to figure out how to introduce topics in Family Worship Night, or rather begin having a Family Worship Night and not send up apostate red flags in the process. I like how ILoveTTATT does it. See post below.

He focuses on using just the Bible in Family Worship, and makes some good deductions from just the scriptures.

My wife is somewhat aware of my position, but not to the full degree. When I start our family worship night, I'm going to open it along the lines of "How can we believe in something that we have never read. I've never read the Bible fully. It's entirely too long. But now that the FDS has reduced the Bible by 13%, we don't have any excuse anymore." Then I'm just going to focus on the scriptures. I'm going to set this as a clearly defined goal, have discussion about what we read, and not deviate to the Wt propaganda.
