My wife, the very infrequent meeting attendee', was studying a chapter out of this book on the phone with her mom last night. The chapter has something to do with the proper view of marriage or something like that. I couldn't believe all the scriptures I heard being used out of context and warped to fit whatever the paragraph was about. Incredibly that I used to believe in all that crap.

New Directives to the Congregation in the UK
by Jim Dee inour latest elders meeting with the co has just occurred.
new things arising are:-.
1. before an ms or elder is appointed a specific question is asked:-.
-

An elder is to be appointed to direct this work and is to communicate progress to the CO directly on a monthly basis.
Sounds to me like they're putting in a "director of marketing" in every KH too pump up sales...errr...ummm.....attendance; another layer of management to further beat the flock to get t hose numbers up.
And as usual, they're going after the most vulnerable...the most needy.

THEY'RE CALLING MY BOSS!!
by new light ini've been using the walk away, avoid elder contact play for a couple of months now.
my boss (an ms in a different cong.
) leaves me a message saying that the elders from my hall called him at his meeting last night.

He says that I'm a grown man and I should talk to the elders.
Scurly bastards....trying to tap into and question your manhood and pride to get their way. That same attitude works the way of "I'm a grown man and as such, I get to choose when , if, and where I want to talk to anybody.
Would he really think it appropriate to tell a sister, "he's your husband......you really should give him a blowjob" is she didn't want to.
Oh...wait........they might just do that.

so someone that tells me she only has to do door to door if she wants to is not being told the truth
For a JW to tell you that is a baldface lie, if their aim as a JW is to be an approved associate in the congregation.
Of course you can not go door to door if you want to, but they have a whole other label to slap on you.....inactive.....along with the appropriate negative connotations they apply to it.

Disrespectful
by finger inhi, just need to shout about something that happend today.
went to my grandfather in law funeral today in a church of england church, my bro in laws g/f is becoming a witness so she said that she would go to funeral but couldnt join in prayers and hymns fair enough i thought.
when we were seated she picked up the bible that was there for us and was making a show of reading something in it then turning to my bro in law and i could here her saying " they have translated it wrong" or something to that effect, then when the coffin was being brought in we all stood up which in my eyes was as a sign of respect to my grandad, she refused to stand up at any point apart from when we were leaving.

I think I know what that was about. She probably turned to Psalm 83:18 (holy shit! I remembered that!) and checked to see if the name "Jehovah" was there. That's a common practice for JWs who get their hands on different bible translations.
Yep...that's exactly what I suspect she did also. That was the very first scripture I learned when I was a study and I am totally guilty of pulling that stunt when I was a newly baptised wet behind the ears JW.
I was recently at a family funeral. When my JW wife was getting dressed I saw her moving around one of those stupid "what happens when you die" pamphlets. At the service, she's sitting there with that stupid pamphlet in her hand the whole time waiting for someone to ask her about it, standing ready to give the "proper witness". Probably the most stupid thing I've ever seen a witness do.....always the shameless plug for the WT brand of truth.

We're actually opening another building on the school campus I work on and area about to buy 500 new Dell machines to outfit it. We've been very satisfied with the service and quality of machines. Much better than any compaq, HP or Gateway.

Trying to the harm to two persons that you do not know for having biblical literature on their own desk is NOT cool.
I work in a learning institution and I sometimes see WT religious garbage all over the place on campus. When I do, I usually pick it up, show it to the responsible administrator in the area who promptly tell me to throw it away. You usually have to get permission to display any printed material on campus, yet, JWs routinely flout the rules leaving their garbage all over the place.

Well.....it's been raining for about a week straight in Houston but it's clear and sunny today. The wife is currently at "the meeting" so I'm kicking back watching a little Comedy Central. Currently the movie "Dogma" is on. I think the satire of the movie is much more applicable to the WT than the Catholic Church.

Only 9 more months...then we get to kick their corrupt asses back to Houston.
Is there anywhere else he can go.......
We already have his corrupt minion governor Perry in Austin and the Elder bush here in Houston.

would you hit a woman if she hit you first? (for men)
by pudd ini would like to as the men on the board a question.
if your wife/partner were to slap you during an argument, would you feel that if you were you to hit back it would make you equal?.
we all know that violance, no matter how minor is wrong, but this is a question about equality.

I've been with amny women who take advantage of the fact that we won't hit back, and don't seem to think men feel pain.
This is what I'm talking about. Some women, even when they are in no danger, feel fully justified in being able to strike a man whenever the mood hits them, even jokingly. It is these type of women who'll find themselves picking their ass up off the ground that I speak of.
I've never given cause for any woman to strike me, and I expect the same consideration in return.
