mrs ozzie and i are enjoying a week in the blue mountains at a convention (no, not a district convention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
) but we didn't want to miss out on our customary poll, so we're sending this from a very welcoming cafe in scenic katoomba.
check it out on the web.

Gawd the worst customer service I've ever gotten is from a cashier who wouldn't get off the phone. Not even to say "hello" or "here is your change"!
Cashier:"No he didn't!" Me:"Umm hi?"Cashier:"What a jerk!" Me after having received change:"Have a nice day!" Cashier:"Screw that bastard!" LOL

i am new here and this is my very first post.
i've been following the message threads over the past few months and decided it was time to register.

at about 6:30 this evening my mother passed away.. .
the best mother and the best wife anybody could ever be blessed with.
she was not only my mother, she was my friend.
To Moe, Dede and Estee,
I am very touched by your posts. I am so happy to have my mother alive and with me. Even though she is an active dub member she has never even hinted at shunning me. I can't even begin to describe what an amazing woman she is! Whenever I need anything she is the first person I call. I dread the day she is no longer here.
Moe, what your daughter said is so cute. Children say the cutest things and sometimes they are so right on! (btw if my son had been a girl he would've been named Emma)
Estee, I'm glad you got the rings. My mother has already promised me her turquoise ring and I told her I'd much rather have her.
Dede, It's funny how smells can bring back memories. Whenever I bake I think of my mom and the warm smells in our house when she used to bake.
Much love and warm thoughts for you all,
~Aztec

Oh ps: Miami is up 7 to zip right now. Whoot whoot!
just when we all thought the 3 day assemblies were too long, here comes the international conventions which are four days long.
the district convention assignment letter from the branch was read tonight informing our congo that we were chosen to attend this years international convention in pontiac, michigan, from june 19-22.. so to all you apostate playa's out there in the motor city, get your rolling billboards ready and stock up on handouts.
give me some flyers beforehand so i can make sure to drop some off in the bathrooms discretely for maximum coverage.
Cool cool cool!!! I should have a car by then too! Pontiac is only about a half hour away from my job so I could maybe skip out early!! Whoot whoot!!

how many of you on this forum were born into the jw faith?
do you think this put you at a disadvantage when leaving the org.
do you think that someone who becomes a witness later in life would have an easier time adjusting back to a "normal" life?
How funny that so many here were 3rd gen and then left! In my family all of us 3rd gen's have left by our teens. I wonder if it's a trend..LOL

a letter was read this week at the philadelphia area kingdom halls that this year's district convention will be held in norphilly (north philly) at the liacouras center (temple university's indoor arena).
this is the first time the philadelphia district convention will be held indoors.
here's what people will miss at the vet (feel free to add to the list): .
Hi arachnia!!!
I'm not sure if I remember the motocross but I totally remember the dancing at the Main Event. It was so hard to pay attention to the boring drivel talks when all those people were having so much fun. I remember everyone around me giggling and watching the "show". That was hilarious! I went to mostly Northern Michigan congregations: Hale, Midland, and Flint. I live down near Detroit now and I work in Royal Oak! I saw your id on the exjw meetup site. Have you ever gone to one? I think there is one tomorrow and if I can find a ride I might go. We'll see..
