i've been visiting this site for about 6 months but haven't had the courage to post anything.
well here goes...... i was born and raised a jw.
although i never really enjoyed anything about the religion, i trudged along because i was afraind of losing my family, and of course afraid of being destroyed in armageddon.

Reading your story reminded me so much of my old best friend who is still a JW. All the same things, only the boy she fell in love with in High School CONVERTED!!! =( Big problem, because we all know why he did it... anyway, I wish he hadn't, I want her to leave the org. so bad... so she can see what life is, not what life isn't. Anyway, welcome to the board, great to hear about you. =-)
i was born into the witnesses in 1962, i was disfellowshiped when i was 18, because i decided to marry a catholic.
our first son was born 4 years later, and thinking i had to teach our son about god, which in it self is not a bad thought, so the only thing i new was the jw's teaching's, and yes i went back.. it took them 11 months to decide weather they would reinstate me, 11 month's of no one talking to me, no one coming to see my new baby, allways leaving befor the meeting was completely over, so as not to feel any more hurt then nessecary.
after i was reinstated i proceeded to raise our 3 children as jw's.
Welcome to the board, rebuilding. ^_^ Just keep on this board for a while, read other peoples experiences... it helps, really. Get involved in the world around you, it will make you feel a lot better. Trust me, you haven' t lost God's protection, just the organization (yeah, like they can protect anything. feh.) It gets better. Smiles1!

the phrase is connected 2 a pagan god hermes alias mercury.. therefore should a jw use that phrase or even use mercury because of its pagan connections?
Eh, I would think that since MOnday through Friday are all named after pagan themes and most words have roots that could be pagan and everything is pagan, unless the WTBS tries to rewrite English language and we see some 1983 stuff going on or like Brave New World shit, I would say.... yeah, why not. They're pagan already, they just don't admit it.

I just left the org like, a month and a half ago... Listen, the only way to recover from the doctrine you've beentaught is to deprogram yourself, and the ONLY way to do that is by reading about what the Org really is. The only way to do that is going to websites like www.freeminds.org and hearing about the controversy. This msg board really saved me. When I feel guilty I look at it and it reassure s me that I didnt do the wrong thing by leaving. Realize that nearly everything you've been taught is a LIE. That's the first step. yeah, yeah it's really smart to drop out to pioneer in high school, lmao, i think it really sets a great example for jehovah when a person can't even complete a basic english assignment because they dropped out of hs to pursue spiritual goals.

so this morning at around 5am, my girlfriend and i were driving in north fresno and we noticed that there are two huge christmastree like trees in front of the hall, outside of the oh-so-welcoming gates... and so i got to thinking... and... hmm.... should i???

however, i think i'm going to need more help... i was dfed back in july just after my 18th birthday; i just couldn't take it any more.
things have been very hard for me to say the least.
Hey, ... that's rough. Can you support her? I mean, are you living in a college dormitory? Or are you living in an apartment? My suggestion would be to get her to move in with you when or if she chooses to leave the org. I just left a month ago, I'm telling you it's harsh and unforgiving and fucked up the stuff they will do to you.
And if she stays in the org., pregnant and unmarried... she'll regret it. They'll cast stones at her as if she was Satan himself. My best suggestion to you would be well... if you love her, and she loves you, then do EVERYTHING you can to make it work for her. Ya gotta take responsibility for what you do. (shrugs) As for losing friends/family... well, they weren't real friends to begin with, because they only like ya for yer religion, and that's plain fucked up.
