What heights do you have in mind?
One of the 144,000?
i'm hardly the biggest fan but i thought this was genuinely funny.
he held a mirror up to the overpaid botoxed schmucks and some of them found it funny.
but i'm hearing there's a bit of a criticism.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvhxzp2spla.

But then we're used to this
did anyone hear the part from the recording of the last 6 screens conference call where johnny talked about a brother being "effeminate?
" johnny mentioned that he refers to this brother as "sister.
".
This boy Jonny's supposedly an active witness, a bethelite right? Then even if he feels trapped he's hardly likely to be a supporter of PFLAG, it's a journey out of the cult and his is embryonic if at all true. I'd lay off the labelling.
anyone have a good read of the ypa article on homosexuality?.
is it just me or is the doctrine becoming more lenient and less dogmatic?.
It's been some time since I read an Awake and had forgotten just how badly written they are. You're right Leolaia, this article is about attempting to control nonJW perception of JWs and their attitude towards homosexuals. If there were any 'out' non-practicing-homosexual elders they might have an argument, but as far as I'm aware most of the 'single' witnesses with responsibilities remain closeted.
But maybe I'm wrong, and once my family read this article they'll start calling me....

i really enjoyed 'inception' at the theater this past weekend.
That review does make it a bit personal and unlike that reviewer I loved Synecdoche, New York which. Inception doesn't make the viewer question reality any more than a couple of undergraduates do after a joint, whereas Synecdoche was about looking at the value of your life. For me anyway.

My opinion: overblown nonsense that was slightly relieved by some clever CGI. But puhlease, any dream within dream story is just a license to be silly (see Dallas circa 1985). It was sub-Matrix with a large dose of Cubby Broccoli. And as to the fantasy city Cob & Mal built over 50 years, Christ, they were architects and managed to come up with the most banal cityscape possible.
I'll confess that there was some good acting and that the combination of Leo Di C, Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt worked well.
a scourge by god to wipe the world free of homosexuality.
i think its a good theory.
any thoughts?
Given that almost 70% of global HIV cases occur in Sub-Saharan Africa it seems that the scourge is a racist one. Or maybe fools would suppose that there are a disproportionate number of homosexuals in that part of the world. What a numptie.
this is something i think about from time to tiime.
i have a male friend, staunch jw that i think could be gay.
family very hard-core jw.
Have to agree with Steve2.
I was a gay JW in my mid twenties who had to put up with people asking if, or telling me, I was gay. It wasn't at all helpful. I came out when I was ready/couldn't bare being closeted anymore. Being supportive when someone comes out rather than trying to prise them out is how you help. If he knows he's gay, the chances are he'll know the resources available, there's even online support for gay JWs which, as much as I personally think it's a nonsense, does appear to be genuine. http://www.witnesses.plus.com/
what's a really good movie you'd recommend that most people probably haven't seen?.
my personal recommendation: synecdoche, new york.
it's one of those movies that words fail utterly to capture--which really is the hallmark of a good movie, i suppose.
The Double Life of Veronique - or any other film by Kiewlowski.
Bad Education or Volver or The Flower of My Secret - oh gawd, all of Almodovar's films!
The White Ribbon - Michael Haneke.
Cold Fever - Frederik Thor Freferikson
