  If you knew there was no reward for serving God would you still serve him?

  I thought alot about this when I first became a dub...............hearing all the 'aged', 'in good standing', zealous' dubs say that even if there was no reward they would continue to serve god out of love for him!

  I thought...............'what a loud of sh@#'

  Now I would say that the only thing I serve is my conscience. I've had religious groups tell me 'if you do this, god will reward you with that.' But they protect pedophiles, cover up lies and are hypocrits, and they expected me to go against my conscience. On the other hand my conscience tells me to be kind, honest, loving, patient, tolerant, protective, gentle, etc, etc! And the rewards are that I sleep well at night in the knowledge that I have done my best and I am surrounded by very special people who share in my life. Those are real rewards, here and now!

  Jehovah's Witnesses Are Pedophile Protectors!!!!!

  in the last 2 years, i have met three people ages 18, 25 and 34, two girls and one guy who are ex-jehovah's witnesses ( thank god!

  ) and who have told me their horror stories concerning being molested in your congregation and no action was taken against their aggressors.

  Hi Disgusted........................and welcome.

  I'ld just like to point something out to you. There are some of us here who have been victims or our kids have been victims of sexual abuse at the hands of JWs. Some of us here have been disfellowshipped because we spoke out about the incident. Some of us have left the WTS because of being disgusted with their handling of matters. And some of us stopped associating with JWs and going out preaching because our consciences wouldn't allow us to keep doing it once we knew what the organization was capable of.

  Then you people have the NERVE to come knocking on our doors and point the finger and say we are all sinners??? You people would probably get along really well with the catholic pedophile priests. What a bunch of perverts you all are!!

  I understand your disgust , but I doubt that it's more profound than mine. You see Disgusted, my child was sexually abused, I did get df'ed for trying to protect other kids, and I did leave because I couldn't stand telling people how the JWs had the 'truth', and put others at risk. My family did go through terrible things such as humiliation, injustice, abuse and corruption.

  So the last thing we need is to be abused here. We are here to heal and find peace. I know you probably weren't aware of this forum's status before writing what you did. But it just shows how easily people can jump to the wrong conclusion and say something that hurts. We are not all a bunch of perverts, just a bunch of people trying to get on with our lives outside the borg, with new, caring, loving, understanding friends.

  So enjoy this forum and I look forward to hearing more from you.

  Hi Myxo..................firstly, thanks for your words of support and empathy for my family. We have indeed been through enough but we are enjoying life now.

  I just wanted to touch base with you quickly before I leave work and head off home.

  I will indeed follow those links you have posted. And I will reply to the jerks that minimise the effects of sexual abuse on the victims and the WTS's cover-ups as well. I find their way of thinking evil and corrupt. Anyone who can find some way of rationalising sexual abuse needs a reality check. They are dangerous to innocent, trusting people.

  But I won't be able to do it in the next few days because, as I posted the other day, I am taking my son to Sydney for the Marylin Manson concert.

  This is a very sensitive issue for myself and MANY others here, so I will take time to think about it and how to respond to these idiots you mention.

  So keep an eye on the MB for my post. It will be in the next week or so.

  Until then cheers and thanks again. And wish me luck, driving through Sydney is probably more frightening than any Marylin Manson concert! LMAO

  Me............................I had enough of that when I was in the borg. All the big fish in little ponds, with a superiority complex!

  It would be nice if people were free to express THEIR feelings and opinions on this forum without fear of being ridiculed, humiliated, or picked to pieces.

  Not everyone who posts here has the time or knowledge to split hairs, nit pick or argue every point presented. That doesn't make them stupid or ignorant.

  God................the whole politics and clique thing is the borg all over again. Does every question have to have one correct answer? Do personal beliefs have to be understood and agreed upon by everyone? Does every discussion have to have one person's opinion as final say? Is everything divided into 2 groups.......right/wrong?

  If people feel afraid to express THEIR opinions and feelings on this forum because some self-professed know-alls, professional arguers get off intimidating them.................people will leave!

  I reply to things that interest me, to share, to express (unlike being in the WT) and I always try to be considerate of others.I don't care to get into the 'politics'. But some are able to make an argument out of any comment.

  Kindness, consideration, love and respect..................despite difference in opinions! That's what people need here.

  but i was just wondering what my son can expect from a mm concert.

  I agree 100%. It's his thing and like his mother, who loved Alice Cooper (good comparison), he likes the theatre aspect of MM. I don't think MM has much to offer the music industry except theatrics.

  the biggest damper you could put on it is your expressed approval.

  Hey, I offered to drive him there and then make a great weekend of the whole trip. It's my party too!

  Oh well, my son WILL be disappointed..................LOL! I won't tell him otherwise he may sell his ticket and I'll miss out having an excuse to go to Sydney for the weekend.
