flipping through the channels this afternoon, i came across a local cable show that spotlights small businesses around town.

Seems like a great coffee shop with a very personable owner.

even while her husband was dying and afterwards brothers would visit her and read scriptures about the resurrection and paradise???
wtf!!!
!she said she knows those scriptures by heart and instead just wanted some support and to cry...which is what we did when we went to see her.....it's such a cold sterile, robotic religion.
Don't grieve??? Don't do what comes naturally?
It figures. Words from those highly trained "qualified" elders...

so far quite dissappointed from what i've seen.
this is very very important, first i"ll address the non/ex jw then i'll address the jw's (jw's scroll down if don't wanna see the first part).
i see so many who have concluded that it was not 'god inspired', a lot of what is being done, and their conscience told them that many things conflicted with jesus teachings and the bible.
I wondered to myself, it this a university student, doing a survey on the damaging effects of being a jw?
Then I read the second paragraph and knew the answer. No, just another jw with a superioritycomplex...ummm...just another a jw with a superiority complex. My apologies for the reduncancy.

just back from lunch and met two different former good friends from my congregation (i live in a small town) and they, of course, turned their backs on me... and it makes me feel strange and bad even though they're the ones who should really feel bad.... how can i learn to ignore it??.
makes me both sad and angry at the same time.
grrrr.
I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Just remember, it is their problem more than yours...
Before I moved to a new province, whenever I saw someone I knew, I smiled my warmest smile and said, "Hi, Nancy!" or whoever...
It made them squirm, because they weren't allowed to speak to me. People stared at them in wonderment --- and they had nothing to say. They could say nothing, because the rule said they could not speak to me.
The tables had turned.

i'm not a witness, but i have to ask..... what happens after you leave?
do you turn against all religion or do you find another?
people say they're happy when they leave...that they feel free, but i'd hate to think that people give up on everything religious.. if you do stay religious, how many doctrines of the jws do you retain?
I got lots of help from therapists.
I no longer believe in organized religion.
I do believe in nature.

i lost my husband to cancer after a long couragous battle of 5 years.
i honored his wishes with a catholic mass.

last saturday afternoon i heard the talk, "put on the lord jesus christ," at the circuit assembly.. one of the overriding questions guiding christians into straight paths was the expected, "what would jesus do?
" citing various texts, the speaker admonished that we should put up a hard fight for the faith, arming ourselves as soldiers.
all good.
No. Publishers seem to blame themselves if they don't know an answer, thinking, "I better do some research..." and look in the Reasoning book to see if the subject is covered. After all, the Reasoning book has all the answers...
That's the trouble with brainwash. The afflicted ones don't see they are brainwashed and continue to defend the troof...

are the jehovah's witnesses beginning to snap under the pressure of their involvement with the watchtower organization's teachings and policies?
many are being sent over the edge... newspapers around the world are reporting heinous and evil acts that are connected to the jehovah's witness religion.
all of this bad press is casting a dark shadow over the doorway at 25 columbia heights, brooklyn, ny.
It would be nice to see the book publishing company with unpaid marketers go down the drain.

let's say theres a birthday for a loved one in my jw family.
i have been out of the troof for a very long time but rarely make comments that disagree with their beliefs.
Why the guilt? Just keep being true to yourself.
