issue .... i've never gotton a good answer about king solomon's later life in which the bible says he married "foreign" wifes and worshipped their gods.. from my dub perspective, this always sounded like plain, clear, unadulterated apostacy.
i mean, if i begin attending the catholic church i would be da'd in a minute and branded as being an apostate.
but we never hear solomon referred to as an apostate.

I think you are right. I do recall a flip-flop by the WT.
But with worshiping another god at the bottom of the spiritual food chain, I still don't understand why Solomon is not referred to as an apostate.

okay, maybe i'm getting old or maybe it's because i have been an exjw for going on 10 years now, but i can't remember what's up with jws and mother's day.
i remember my mother going with another sister to my brother's classroom for some mother's day pageant back in the 60's when we lived in alaska.
there is also a commandment in the bible about "honor your father and your mother.
If I recall from a publication several years ago, the issue regarding Mothers's Day is tied to pagan nations.
It seems that mothers made up a large percentage of the pagan population. In fact, the publication mentioned that approximately 50% of the population in Babyon either was a mother or would likely become a mother.
Even secular history agrees that mothers made up about half the populations of the Assyrian, Greek and Roman World Powers.
Obviously, the celebration of Mother's Day is not for Christians.

by nature, are you a person that typically makes a judgment on your gut feeling or do you feel that you don't have all the facts to judge against someone?
I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and hold off the judging part until I find someone who agrees with me.

i remember every sunday was roast chicken.
also i remember them serving knockwurst and saurkraut.
Wow ... the memories ...
Going to the food tents across the street from Yankee Stadium in New York ... the straw/hay on the ground .. those tables made from sheets of plywood ... the big plastic slotted trays .... the juice in the little hard plastic cups ... the serving line ... and 65 cents ... when I was very young they charged 65 cents for the meal for quite a few years (I think the pioneers got one free) .... and then taking your try over to the person who would do the steam-cleaning.

as far as i'm concerned, the united states is in north america, just like canada and mexico.
so why do americans think "america" means only the us?
so often i hear americans talk about the us as "america".. .
Why call itself "America?" Why not ??? It's a nice name.
Imagine the confusion if the US called itself Switzerland or something. People would get confused with the one in Europe.
