Wanted to Share a Watchtower Quote with you
by FusionTheism injust thought this was interesting and wanted to see all of your thoughts and opinions on it.. watchtower, november 15, 2014, simplified study edition, pages 11-12:.
9 let us examine the words of three brothers who for many years have worked closely with members of the governing body.
one brother mentioned: while this has indeed been a unique privilege of service, the close association has from time to time revealed that, although spirit anointed, these brothers are imperfect.

The human imperfection thing, totally accept . The issue I do have is one of honesty, openness, transparency and accountability for their actions. The other issue I have is why do I have to go to a bunch of mentally diseased apostates to find out what watchtower gets up to. It saddens me to think that F.I.F.A is more prepared to take the consequences for their actions, than God's visible organisation here on earth. Wt if you read this "it a God dam soccer organisation". You should be ashamed of yourself. -

Rutherford, Knorr or Franz - Who has the most influence on doctrine & process now?
by konceptual99 inso, i was thinking - who of the above still has the most influence on current wts doctrine and dogma?.
rutherford obviously created the smokescreen around 1914/607 but overall his work has been superseded i would suggest.. knorr created the various schools and they or their offspring still live on.
wasn't it during his tenure that all the blood doctrine, types/anti types (now chucked away of course), transplants etc came along?

There is some pretty good circumstantial evidence that Freddie played a major part in forming the religion during both the Rutherford and Knorr years. I remember reading and article by Barbara Anderson that she found a letter in the Wt archives from Rutherford requesting Freddie to reply to a question from readers. This caused her to question how much of the religion could of been based on one man's ideas.
The other proof that I could point to is CoC. Ray mentions that his uncle had total authority over what he wrote, and that Knorr relied heavily on him in forming the religions doctrines. I guess the 1975 fiasco /types and anti types is testimony to this. Ray mentions that his uncle was certainly an intelligent man also.

I'm guessing the rumour running around about me was that I left because of a love of money and a lack of friendship. While I suppose there is some truth in this. They over looked the fact that after 18 months of researching the Org on the internet, the stress just got to much and decided that I could no longer support this organisation while knowing TTATT. -

Why did the org "forgive" KH mortgages?
by Magnum ini know this has been discussed, but i think it's good that topics like this get brought back up from time to time for the sake of newbies and lurkers, plus, i have a question (related at end of post).. the org brags about "forgiving" kh mortgages as if it's so loving and giving.
i put the word in quotation marks because most of us realize it wasn't forgiving anything.
the new arrangement should actually bring it far more money.. for example, suppose there are twenty congregations total.

I honestly believe the WTBTS should of (at the very least) been a bit more clearer in explaining the new funding arrangement. This has now given the impression to the R&F that the organization is in a stable financial position. One could be forgiven for believing " why else would they delete the mortgages unless they could afford to do so". So hence the need to reiterate on jw broadcasting begging for money. This move has come back to bit them and I say "GOOD BLOODY JOB"!! The issue isn't one of been a flush with cash and real estate but that of long term solvency, and this is where I believe the money is going. -

Does What We Say Here Or In Person Really Help JWs To Get Out Of The Religion?
by minimus inif we are in the congregation, do you think our comments or questions actually reach elders or others in the congregation?
do our comments on this board affect witnesses to the point of questioning their faith?

Of course the R&F have got no idea of the extent of the people who are walking out the door because of apostate web sites like this because most just choose to say nothing. Then there is the issue of dumb ass elders who can't even be bothered to find out why that one chose to walk out the door. -

I would have to say the evidence certainly suggests that sites like theses are having an effect on Wt ability to recruit and retain members. The statistical data taken from year books by jwfacts, shows a dramatic decline since the advent of the internet. I sort of can't help but think if Wt now has regrets about not jumping on the internet band wagon sooner, than they have, and even then is it enough. Their history is history now, and cannot be changed. I think they have to have more pro sites on the net, and just by the shear volume drown out or certainly make it harder for apostate sites to be found by Google searches. But then on saying that, it would then make it easier for the apostate to then question the validity of the witness Web site. Damned if they do and Damned if they don't. It's just a shame that most of the R&F haven't got a clue that the real issue of recruitment isn't about knocking on doors, but that the real battle is raging on the internet. I could speculate that some could have suspicions of where the problem lies. In my own case (although I must admit I did have issues with the Org and hadn't been happy in the religion for some years) I never intended to go to apostate web sites. It all started off with a question, and I thought to myself well if the information is so good from the F&DS then why haven't they provided any statistical data to back their claims up. I earnestly looked for weeks in the society publications for this information. After finding nothing but a series of bible quotations, I google searched it. With in seconds I had an answer, and discovered that it was for good reason that no statistical data had been provided.
I can give another example I know of that is similar to mine. There were a married couple who were studying with the witnesses for a couple of months. He had his own business while she had a responsible position in a government department. These were good, descent middle-upper middle class people that would of been an asset to any organisation they joined. I remember never seeing them again after they told me that they were discussing bible truth with a relative. Just recently I saw them in town and decided to ask them what happened. The reply was simple (1) the relative google JW (2) sex abuse. Sums it up really and I think WTBTS would be foolish if they didn't realize what was going on.

It Is Official, Just as Predicted on this Site... Local Cong Donates all Monies on Deposit with You Know Who!
by RichardHaley inmy local cong just donated all money (4k +) on deposit with you know who to, you know who.
"since the society forgave all kingdom hall loans the boe felt it only appropriate to forgive the society of our loan to them.
" is exactly how it was presented to the r&f.

In all my decades as a witness I can never recall when someone voted against a proposal. It was always unanimous. -

The real issue is long term solvency.
by joe134cd inok every one raves on at how miserable and tight wt is, while they are literally swimming in money and assets.
although this may be true this isn't the real issue or the problem to begin with.
the problem is having a long term survivable business plan.

The problem is having a long term survivable business plan. This perfectly explains their behaviour and this is where all the cash is been put to ensure long term solvency. What other business wouldn't do the same thing. So think before you open your mouth. -

Well the Beatles would certainly be a step in right direction. Maybe techno metal might be pushing things a bit far. Lol. Hey I'm just great full for the happy song.
