Question: Are single sisters allowed to be missionaries in other countries?
by Wild_Thing inas far as i remember, only married couples were allowed to be missionaries.
my jw sister recently told me that single sisters can be missionaries, too.
this sounds too progressive for jws, so i just want to verify it.

I believe you have to be married. I think a single female going into some of the 3rd world countries could be very dangerous. -

Specific Comments By R&F About May Broadcast
by freemindfade ini know there are many posts discussing the may money requesting televangalism...er... broadcast i mean!
but i wanted to start one where anyone can put what they have heard any non-exjw, non-apostate witnesses say good or bad about the broadcast.
i don't see how it can't rattle followers... but then again i might be surprised how they can twist things (2+2=5).

I think the situation might of been a bit different if they had been a bit more up front with the initial letter in the first place. I have a friend who currently works in the U.S bethel. She confirmed to me that rumours were floating around that there are money troubles and that real estate was the most likely solution to turn to. Although she was unable to verify it with proof the fact she knew about it and could verify that there are whispers at the heart of the organisation is very very telling. They are certainly turning to real estate now as an income stream as the printing industry now no longer becomes viable. -

The answer is yup they can. You'll be (1)spoken to. (2) removed as a publisher (3) announced at the meeting you are no longer a publisher (4) marking talk given so everyone unofficially will know what your up to. -

JWs are being told Watchtower is financially strapped because they forgave Kingdom Hall mortgages!
by PokerPlayerPhil inhere's why the governing body did that little line on jw broadcasting, i have a source still inside new york and being as sneaky as ever, the watchtower is claiming they need the cash because they forgave the kingdom hall mortgages!
not all the kingdom halls are hitting the targeted monthly donation-revenue range, they are still asking other kingdom halls to pony up cash for kingdom halls that can't afford the "recommended donation rate".
pure evil, that's the jehovah"s witness watchtower theocratic war in action!

I think wt should of been a bit more open, honest and transparent with that letter. They unintentionally gave the impression that they were ok for cash that's why they lovingly forgave the loan. Little did the R&F know that the exact opposite had happened, and now Wt is thinking "oh shit" -

If you gunna give wt any money, make sure you stipulate that you want it to go to Nepalese relief, and also on the condition that the work been done is at no charge. -

Mays JW TV Broadcast/Your feedback is appreciated
by ToesUp ini have a pretty good intuition but i have to admit i am going back and forth on the jw tv may broadcast.
i keep asking myself are they really in financial trouble (wishful thinking) or are they just grabbing for more money?.
i always appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and ideas on here.. let me know what you think.

Sure they are taking in money but before we all jump to conclusions we have to know what they are spending and Wt ain't saying nothing. I do have a friend who is currently working at the American bethel. I directly asked her if there were financial difficulties of sorts. Although unable to give me any proof. She was aware of the situation and said that there are rumours floating bethel about this. Another interesting comment she made was because of their vast real estate holdings it would help to keep them going. I think even the fact she knew about it and was able to give testimony that rumour is circulating at the heart of the organisation is telling. I feel if Wt chooses to go more extreme and hard core in there ideas, this will cost them, both with members and money in western lands. -

Was not reading the full letter out on funding a bad idea
by joe134cd inother threads have touched on this, but i think it deserves its own thread.
i just wonder if not having clearly explained to the r&f that yes any outstanding debt had been cleared but the elders no it hadn't was a good idea.
i would get the impression (with out knowing part 2 of the letter) that wt wasn't in need of the money, so all was good.

I wonder if it had been explained as new way of debt repayment weather this would of made a difference.

Stephen Lett admits income/expenditure shortfall as he reminds Witnesses to donate “valuable things”
by defender of truth init's well worth taking a look at the article, it will only take you a few minutes.
but i would particularly like to highlight this part: .
if you are going to divulge a shortfall in funds, particularly with the aim of leveraging more donations (or valuable things) from a pool of supporters who are already lagging in this regard, the least you can do is treat them like adults and give some hard numbers.

Legally can WT forcibly remove money from KH bank accounts with out the signees permission
by joe134cd ini just wondered if the wtbts could legally remove the money from the congregation accounts with out the signees permission.
are the bank accounts deemed society property with the change of realestate ownership into the societies name.
legally could they get away with it if the situation arose , and if not how could they manipulate the situation so they could.

Yes I realise that unofficially there is a lot they could do e.g demotions, threats, removals etc. I'm talking legally here. Would this be another menlo park scenario of yes they are in charge but no they really are not.
