i , and my wife had probably left about 12 months prior to this magazine coming out , and i never at that time had any knowledge of it till many years later when i joined this site.. when i did see it , i was appalled that they could put out such an article , in a magazine they would distribute throughout the world .. to me it smacked of child abuse .
these were kids , who had no life experiences , who were far too young to make life or death choices of their own , were influenced by religous leaders who had their own agenda , and sadly by family , relatives and freinds who were indoctrinated by a man made religion that has its roots in america in the late 1800`s .. so my question is , did this episode of child abuse go under the radar of mainstream media ?
did it escape child protection agencies of the time ?.
I wonder what would be the reaction if they were to release the same magerzines today.
Smiddy - it's just ashame that they couldnt of made these changes back in 1994, and saved some of these children's lives. I remmber the cover of this magerzine but never read it.

when i read coc, i was stunned that the 2 elders (theotis french & rob dibble) were on ray franz judcial committee.
i have known these men for over 20 years having done rbc and convention work with them.
they are still elders today which means they were in their early 30's(which is unheard of for a case of this importance to have inexperienced elders to sit on) on this committee.. without revealing myself, i have never tried(but have wanted to), ask them about their on having to judge a former gb member.. then out of the blue, about a year ago, i was mentioning how hard it is trying to get younger ones to volunteer to one of these elders, and he says"this is nothing compared to to sitting on the committee that had to disfellowship ray franz".
I'm not doubting what your saying. You sort of wonder with having someone who was so young and probably inexperienced conduct a JC with a senior member of the GB (and was old enough to be their farther). Why Ray never made mention to the fact. To me that would be something pretty relevant. Another question. What ever happened to Renee Vasquez.

What saddens me Terry is a few years ago I probably could of taken the place of Jordan. Unfortunately though I probably would of come over for a 2nd chat.
i was recently approached by a couple of borg drones while i was walking my dog, and i thought why not, may plant a seed or two (how wrong was i).
there was no real logic to what they were saying but as i was in the local park the conversation started to veer to how wonderful nature was and how this was the work of a wonderful creator.
i did not let on i was a former witness and let them continue with their fairy tale of creation and how the vast multitude of animals shows a loving god at work blah blah blah...... but i digress, the converastion then turned to how evolution was false.. apparently to earth is only a few thousand years old, so i mentioned about the burgess shale, to be met with blank stares.
You are lucky Moley. I would love to meet some drones. I would take it as a personal quest to give them a run for their money.
in the last 6 months my family and i have stopped attending cold turkey.
it is incredible to me to see how our so called friends have dropped us like we were a snake covered in spiders.

I have said this many times on different threads. It just amazes me how they are prepared to spend billions of dollars and countless man hours trying to get New recruit and yet will do practically nothing to retain a member. I have had a very similar experience to you when I left the Borg e.g only 3 people could be bothered to see where I was and this is after many decades of loyal service. I'm just a fader didn't choose to go down the DA /DF line. In some ways I'm glad there was a no show but then on the other hand, "Only 3. Come on"!!!!!! Anyway I'm coming up to my 1 year anniversary of leaving. Still finding it challenging, but will never go back.
