Something tells me 1914...
by Monsieur inafter todays watchtower lesson, and the lessons coming, something tells me bigger and bigger new understandings are coming.
and that it will culminate with 1914. notice how jesus is now coming, and no longer already here.
the current understanding is both, he is here and hes also coming.

There will come a time when they will be forced to move on the 144k \ 1914 vs 607. But in the mean time I think they have got enough excuses for it to out live me. -

How much can you buy with a dollar a week allowance?
by John Aquila in$ 1 dollar a week x 8 million jws = $ 8 million dollars a week.
$ 8 million x 52 weeks in a year = $ 416 million dollars a year.
and its all tax free.. you know jws donate more than $ 1 dollar a week!

I have to say even at the height of my indoctrination I may have only parted with $20 at an assembly.
I have an elder friend who is also accounts servant. I mentioned to him about the societies financial problems. He replied by saying by what he saw coming in as literature as opposed to what went out in donations there was a Hugh short fall, and that what I had told him didn't come as a surprise. His congregation was also in a reasonably wealthy area

The way they have been going lately nothing would surprise me. My god some of the things that would of been scandalous years ago is not only acceptable but justified. My uber dub pioneer cousin emailed me the happy at bethel video with a message of "see we do like to have fun". I almost chocked on the food I was eating when I opened the email. I think the 1914 & 144k will just be fazed out eventually. They would lose to many people if they openly admitted that this was wrong. I think the DFing and blood polices are also proving thorny issues, that they probably wish they could drop as well. -

They must be finding it hard to source volunteers from the U.S alone. -

Hi I've been reading a web sight called Borean Pickets.
http://meletivivlon.com/2015/05/09/may-tv-broadcast-on-tv-jw-org/
Although the guy writes some real thought provoking stuff, I sort of don't know what to make of it. Is the guy Pro JW or an apostate.
He really writes some well balanced articles, and most of his articles are from a scriptural perspective. It wasn't until I read the article above on the asking for money that I thought he may be more apostate than pro JW.
So anyone know any history on the web sight.

Question: Are single sisters allowed to be missionaries in other countries?
by Wild_Thing inas far as i remember, only married couples were allowed to be missionaries.
my jw sister recently told me that single sisters can be missionaries, too.
this sounds too progressive for jws, so i just want to verify it.

I believe you have to be married. I think a single female going into some of the 3rd world countries could be very dangerous. -

Specific Comments By R&F About May Broadcast
by freemindfade ini know there are many posts discussing the may money requesting televangalism...er... broadcast i mean!
but i wanted to start one where anyone can put what they have heard any non-exjw, non-apostate witnesses say good or bad about the broadcast.
i don't see how it can't rattle followers... but then again i might be surprised how they can twist things (2+2=5).

I think the situation might of been a bit different if they had been a bit more up front with the initial letter in the first place. I have a friend who currently works in the U.S bethel. She confirmed to me that rumours were floating around that there are money troubles and that real estate was the most likely solution to turn to. Although she was unable to verify it with proof the fact she knew about it and could verify that there are whispers at the heart of the organisation is very very telling. They are certainly turning to real estate now as an income stream as the printing industry now no longer becomes viable. -

The answer is yup they can. You'll be (1)spoken to. (2) removed as a publisher (3) announced at the meeting you are no longer a publisher (4) marking talk given so everyone unofficially will know what your up to. -

JWs are being told Watchtower is financially strapped because they forgave Kingdom Hall mortgages!
by PokerPlayerPhil inhere's why the governing body did that little line on jw broadcasting, i have a source still inside new york and being as sneaky as ever, the watchtower is claiming they need the cash because they forgave the kingdom hall mortgages!
not all the kingdom halls are hitting the targeted monthly donation-revenue range, they are still asking other kingdom halls to pony up cash for kingdom halls that can't afford the "recommended donation rate".
pure evil, that's the jehovah"s witness watchtower theocratic war in action!

I think wt should of been a bit more open, honest and transparent with that letter. They unintentionally gave the impression that they were ok for cash that's why they lovingly forgave the loan. Little did the R&F know that the exact opposite had happened, and now Wt is thinking "oh shit" -

If you gunna give wt any money, make sure you stipulate that you want it to go to Nepalese relief, and also on the condition that the work been done is at no charge.
