What I think JW.org has to be conscious of is how is this been previewed by the public and most notably the charities commission. You're got the child abuse issue, the issue with the young boy and medical treatment and now this. Trust me if they lost their charity status it would hurt them more than any liable Court case.

Will JW.ORG actually harm the WT Society Long Term ?
by flipper inmy son and i were discussing this yesterday over coffee.
since the wt society in previous years virtually demonized going on the internet at all for jw's - now wt leaders are doing a complete turn around or about face probably so as to " compete " or keep up with all the anti-jw websites that are out there to give the wt society point of view.. however- it very well may backfire on them as once people start doing google searches looking for jw.org it will bring up all the other websites dealing with any jw issues and in the privacy of their own homes out of curiosity i'm sure lots of jw's are going to want to check out some of these sites to see what all the " apostate " hoopla is all about.
i wonder how many jw's will do this and will it have an effect in opening more minds to other views ?

Ok ok I apologize. I just can't help but think how this goes against everything as a witness I was taught. Absolutely 360 degree turn on. That's the pill I'm finding the hardest to swallow. So much so that I thought it was a conspiracy.

My mother said to me jw.borg get a million hits a day. I had to explain that it wasn't very good when you consider it dosnt even cover 8 million pubs haveing 2 meetings a week (2 x 8 mill = 16 mill). When you also factor in a couple hundred thousand elders having to check correspondence daily it becomes even worse.

Turning My House in to A Ex-JW Gathering Church, Will it bug my JW Neighbors?
by BucketShopBill ini am thinking of turning my house in to a ex-jw meeting place, getting bar, pool tables, ping-pong, foseball, pinball and kegs of beer on tap.
big screen singles pad for the local ex-jws to visit and hang out.
will this bug all the jws who live near by me, do they get weird around known apostates?.

I suggest, considering the age of the man and the circumstances he's in. Just let him be. By going into all the crap of the JWs you would probably upset him and make his situation worse.

Confirmation on delegates for international conventions
by joe134cd ini have 2 unrelated question.. (1) i heard through the grape vine that delegates traveling to special conventions are only required to book a certain number of nights in a society approved hotel.
this differes from my experience where i was required to book the whole package (e.g flights/accomodation etc).
i was told the reason for this change in arrangement was due to people complaining about the high costs involved with the society arranging everything.

So now they just require x amount of nights in a hotel. Can anybody verify this, or the reasons for the change. I know on 2 occasions when I went on a society arranged international convention they were a hell of a price.
(2) I remember reading a post where some one had done a cumulative chart of where the growth was coming from various countries. If memory served me right I think it showed that 50% of the world wide growth comes from 10 countries. Dose anyone have the link. Thanks

Watchtower Takes in $2 Million Conditional Loan and Won't Return the Loan, Is it True?
by BucketShopBill ini heard several stories of the watchtower taking in loans and donations given by rich witnesses who have fallen on to hard times and asked for the money back and the watchtower won't return the money.
have you ever heard of the watchtower only paying the money back on "conditional loans" once legal experts get invovled?
one of the stories that is around is a family donated a large chunk of their nest-egg to the watchtower and the husband got sick and the branch refused to contact him when he asked for his conditional donation back, would the watchtower screw people out of their money?

OMG I wished I had never read this. I never knew this went on. Honestly I had no idea. Just when I think they can't go any further the seem to go to a whole new level.
