  Where did the Witchtower Babble on about "HAPPIFIED" first?

  i have the idea, or vague memory of happified being used in a discussion of the "days" in daniel 12 : "jehovah's people were further happified ".

  does anybody have the litterature still to check this?

  mine went in the trash, except for the aid book, which ray franz produced, so i kept it as he had integrity, along with the james commentary.. can you remember any other ridiculous words they used?

  Thx, blondie. I always figured it was one of Freddie Franz's eccentricities, but thanks to you, I see it goes back to the modern mouthpiece himself, Chuck Russell! One question, please: what does " R5091 " mean?

  I checked several free online unabridged dictionaries for "happify" (Collins, Webster's Unabridged from 1913 & 1828, Oxford) and came up empty. Do you think it's an in-house WT term or that Chuck picked it up from elsewhere?

  Next time I'm in a good library with those beefy dictionaries, I'll look it up.

  I'm surprised that this blog is tolerated by the Org. Aren't Witnesses supposed to refrain from such sites?

  Perhaps the GB is a quandary here?? On the one hand, she's so loyal and praises the GB, and is so outstanding in the ministry. On the other, she's being disobedient by even having such a site/blog. She has quite a following, with people even stealing her photos. Is the Org making some sort of exception in her case???

  Or do you think they'll have to clamp down on her, especially since she's now been linked here at JW.net?

  i'm considering resigning as an elder.

  i'm not planning to fade or stop as one of jehovah's witnesses, just stop serving as an elder.. i have responsibility in the congregation and in circuit, district, rbc, etc.

  and i'm completely exhausted.

  Simon Templar offers good advice, including the part about your wife.

  You also need to ask yourself whether you can operate out of the driver's seat, as a lowly publisher. I've seen bros. step down or be removed and just crawl up and become shells. Are you prepared for the radical change? If you've put all your eggs in one basket, that of being an elder, will you be able to find other things to satisfy your needs, like real study and really taking care of family members?

  Whatever you do, I wish you succcess.

  Counting of "tract" or "memorial" invitations on reports slip!

  so, the new arrangement is to get all the cong to count every tract and memorial invite and dc invite placed etc!.

  can you beleive this!

  how controlling and completely stupid!...i mean what is the reasoning behind counting a slip left in soemones letterbox???

  this article is sickening, not a single word about love towards others, care for the needy or any kind act.

  but since i worked 72 hours each week in a hotel restaurant, i first had to make some changes.. i asked my boss whether he would allow me to work 60 hours instead.

  i next asked to be allowed to work only 36 hours per week, or 6 hours on 6 days, and that request was also granted.

  my first public talk, given in my early 20s, was actually a twenty-minute part of a symposium talk.

  my pioneer partner friend and i each had twenty minutes and a "servant" had the concluding part.

  When I was active, the bro. giving the public talk was supposed to count the time. That's why it's called a PUBLIC talk, whereas parts on service meetings and in the TheoMin. school were not to be counted.

  Evidence of Jesus being Married?

  a harvard professor is claiming a fragment of papyrus seemingly mentioning that jesus had a wife is an ancient document and not a forgery, following a series of tests.. the text is written in coptic and contains a dialogue in which jesus refers to "my wife.

  "karen king, a professor at the harvard divinity school, writes in the harvard theological review that the papyrus is almost certainly a product of ancient christians and probably dates to eighth-century egypt, based on carbon dating and chemical tests on the ink.. none of the testing has produced any evidence that the fragment is a modern fabrication or forgery, prof king and her team concluded.. the fragment, which has some legible lines on the front and on the back, contains the words: jesus said to them, my wife .... she will also be my disciple.. james yardley from columbia university, and alexis hagadorn from columbia university libraries, used a technique called micro-raman spectroscopy to determine that the carbon character of the ink matched samples of other papyri that date from the first to eighth centuries ce.. malcolm choat from macquarie university examined the fragment at hds and offered an independent assessment of the handwriting.. prof king first announced the existence of the fragment in september 2012, at the international coptic congress in rome, where she dubbed it "the gospel of jesus's wife.".

  You have to make certain that the congs. or individuals did not grant the GB the power to do this.

  Don't all good Witnesses grant the GB to do whatever they please about anything since all good JWs believe the GB are God's sole mouthpiece on earth?
