Anyone interested in some old WT books / publications?
by YellowLab ini was cleaning my basement the other day and came across a box of old wt books and publications i stowed away after i did the "fade".
i wasn't sure if i should toss them, use them for fireplace kindling, sell them on ebay, or see if anyone here would be interested in them.
i haven't gotten through the entire box yet, so i don't have a fully comprehensive list, but here are some to name a few:.

Does anyone have a WT/AWAKE cover pertaining to the Occult?

i have a huge power-point presentation due by friday, and need some depiction from the wtbts concerning the "dangers" of the occult or spiritism.
it deals with the tremendous variations of our world and how "evil" is defined and relative to each individual (ex; the i-ching is vital to confucianism, but feared by jw's, the crusades sought to "save" everyone by forcing conversion to catholicism, but tortured and blinded non believers with agonizing hot iron rods, etc.....)

Oh Great Teacher! You forgot some vital elements to this procedure being successfull! FIRST-you have to turn the lights ON-did you know that demons were "afraid" of the light? NEXT-you pray to jehovah, loudly, BUT, you MUST do so in JESUS' name!!! What a kick I get out of all that now....who did the "what demons are afraid of" research anyway?

Michael Jackson in the news again.....
by DebraDoll inso sad..........arrest warrants were just executed against him for multiple counts of child molestation.
as a mom i am deeply appalled, as an ex witness i am saddened at his lack of power over his own life and ability to move forward, beyond the scarring of an abusive upbringing.

Simon-You are so very right! "Maybe they should be charged ... shouldn't there be a charge of "knowingly letting your kids sleep at the freaky rich guys house in the hope of getting a big payoff" ?" This was a direct act of parental neglect, knowingly putting your child "at risk." The entire world was put on notice with the former allegations! Whether we believe that he was a victim of a cult abuse or not, the fact remains that he is a very sick man now, and for that I am sorry for him. Such mental darkness only perpetrates constant despair for the one suffering, which is relieved by no amount of money or possessions, as is evident by his constant bizarre behavior. His background of course is no excuse not to live a good and positive life now, as I advocate for all of us who are now in control of our adult lives, but the fact remains that he cannot, and is not in control. My sympathy by no means is a statement of condoning his loathsome actions.

my heart hurts.
by flower inwell i have been feeling a bit like crap lately.
work has been very stressful and my attempts to make new friends outside of the jw's have been mostly futile.
the people i work with are immature and are more interested in the latest office gossip and whose doing what than anything else.

Flower, How you feel WILL CHANGE-I PROMISE you that! Not that THINGS will absolutely get better, but as we mature and grow through our journey, our perceptions and abilities to sort things out and deal with them DOES CHANGE. Then, as we begin to SEE our difficulties DIFFERENT, we begin to FEEL differently about them. Does this make sense? At any rate, I wish we were closer, as I am an avid believer that a physical embrace (would you believe that now SCIENTIFIC studies are correlating feelings of well-being for one depressed when held in an embrace for a MINIMUM of only SIX SECONDS!?) begins the ease, physiologically, of our stress. Thinking of you today.................

Panda-I just wanted to share something so exciting, so soon after I revealed the life changing events happening in my life right now. 3 weeks ago, I, uninvited, stopped at an attorney's office just 8 miles away from home, to leave my resume. The door was locked at only 4:20pm, but as the building is a late 1800's store-front structure (right out of "Gunsmoke" and I have been unable to stop my daydreams about working in this office) I could see that all the lights were on and that there had been recent activity at the front desk, so I knocked. As I was about to leave the lawyer came to the door so I introduced myself (picture the funny shit going through my mind about old field service experiences and how I am not intimidated to knock at anyone's door anymore!) and submitted the resume. He asked me "not to run off" and we talked a bit. Well...............he called last week and asked me to come in for an interview and would hear back from him this week. Well guess what? He called yesterday to tell me I GOT HIRED AS HIS LEGAL ASSISTANT! I START THIS MORNING! Wish me luck!
