Crazy public talk last Sunday: The Origin of Humans - Does It Matter What You Believe?
by 88JM infrom the congregation that brought you these watchtower comments, i thought you would enjoy some selected quotes from the public talk we had last sunday from the crazy talk outline: "the origin of humansdoes it matter what you believe?".
it's amazing this talk outline is still allowed - some of the material is hilarious, and the arguments are so wild and misrepresented.
i still have the audio file if you can bear to listen to it, i could pm you a link.

Nice 1975 quote from F Franz, in 1975
by Splash in*** w75 5/1 p. 285 a contrastmissionaries with an urgent, lifesaving work ***.
another speaker, f. w. franz, the societys vice-president, forcefully impressed on the audience the urgency of the christian preaching work.. he stressed that, according to dependable bible chronology, 6,000 years of human history will end this coming september according to the lunar calendar.
this coincides with a time when the human species [is] about to starve itself to death, as well as its being faced with poisoning by pollution and destruction by nuclear weapons.. franz added: theres no basis for believing that mankind, faced with what it now faces, can exist for the seventh thousand-year period under the present system of things.

1909 Watchtower Article on Acts 15:28,29
by pirata ini was suprised to find that the 1909 watchtower had an understanding of the blood ruling that meshes more coherently with the circumstances (galatians 1,2; acts 21:20-32) surrounding that decision.
it acknowledges that these were not binding laws, but rather were made with a preservation of peace between hebrew and gentile christians.
it draws the parallel between blood and meat sacrificed to idols (1 corinthians 8).

1947 Awake Says Excommunication is Unbiblical and Pagan!
by Ding injanuary 8, 1947 awake!:.
excommunication is "altogether foreign to biblical teachings.".
it's an unbiblical roman catholic teaching by which "you are looked upon with the blackest contempt... being cursed and damned with the devil and his angels.".

"End of All Kingdoms in 1914!" 8-30-1914 World Magazine PDF!
by cabasilas inover the past 50 odd years, an article that was published in a new york city newspaper in 1914 has been quoted several times in watchtower publications.
this article was published in the august 30, 1914 world about pastor c.t.
russell's predictions for 1914. modern watchtower publications omit the facts from that article that show that russell's predictions for 1914 do not match the watchtower society's current understanding of 1914 as a "marked year.

A knock-down argument against the WBTS interpretation of Matt 24:45-47!
by yadda yadda 2 inthe wbts teaches that in 1919 jesus inspected all of christendom and appointed the wbts "over all his belongings" in fulfillment of matthew 24:45-47: "who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?
happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so.
truly i say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings.".
