  1 blood usage acts 15:20 says abstain from blood but 1 sam 14:32-5 says .

  2 god's name and closeness to him: christ says call god our "father".

  Episodes of Craziness

  over the last ten years or so i`ve seen and heard things which when.

  looked at objectively can only be termed `craziness`.however, in some.

  cases these episodes of craziness might be viewed as wonderful testimonies to a strong commitment to jahovah.

  When I first married my wife she was an INACTIVE dub. She had married me IN the Catholic Church, and had promised to attend classes not for the purpose of conversion, but to learn about the faith (ok even these classes are given in the hopes that the party will convert). At any rate, when we married I was a VERY active Catholic and she a disassociated (due to previous divorce) and inactive Dub.

  Shortly after our marriage I go away for a week on a business trip. When I come home all my crosses (ok, both of them) and my church calendar are no where to be seen, she had taken them down. Saying nothing, I find them and replace them. She says nothing. Several weeks later, after another trip, the items are again missing. This time I ask about it. She says she finds them offensive and doesn't want to expose her JW kids who spend about half their time with us to such idolatry. I remind her that MY CHILDREN who are with us full time are Catholic, that she knew I was active in the church before she married me, none of the items in the house are new additions, it's family tradition (one of the crucifixes had been my fathers). I restore the items to thier proper place.

  About a month later SAME DEAL, this time I tell her "I'm the spiritual head of the Household, the items remain" She makes me promise not to buy or display any NEW items and doesn't take them down anymore, even when she recieved a shepherding call about being reinstated (she wasn't that time, but was later at another congregation).

  I now have one additional crucifix, a large one (three feet by 20 inches) and she is again inactive and considering coming into the Catholic church. Oh yeah, we also have a Mezuzah (Jewish tradition) on our front door post.

  'Changes That Disturb People' Awake 4/22/70

  one of the reasons is that people are disturbed by what is happening in their churches.

  yes, millions of persons have been shocked to learn that things they were taught as being vital for salvation are now considered by their church to be wrong.

  have you, too, felt discouragement, or even despair, because of what is happening in your church?

  Hey Folks,

  From the perspective of a life long Catholic, this change was NOT so dramatic. The position of the Church, understood by most Catholic laity was that this was a matter of Discipline not Doctrine. Fridays are still considered days of Penance by the church and the faithful are encouraged to find their own form of penance, be it abstaining from meat, or some other form of self denial. The sin was not in eating the meat itself, but in the intention, usually based in willful disobedience to the Church...still, this brings to mind one of my favorite cartoons from the time this change was made. It shows two demons in hell in front of some of the damned, one devil says to the other, "So what do we do with all the Catholics who are here for eating meat on Fridays?" I LOVE that cartoon.

  i notice a tendency to use very rough words describing each other and their posts.

  some may think that if we can make other people thing unworthy we are the ones on the top.

  what if the borg sent out a letter adressed to all congregations in the united states and it said this.. dear brothers:.

  the faithfull and discreet slave in which you know is directed by jehovahs holy spirit has directed us to request that you immediatley begin to rid yourself of any and all unnecessary material items, and we are requesting that all moneys from the sell of these items be sent to the wbts as soon as possible.. after you rid yourself of these burdens it should be no problem for all of the brotherhood to begin the full time preaching work as regular pioneers.

  you can rest assured that jehovah will provide for all of your needs since you are putting his kingdom first.. best wishes from your fellow slaves at the borg.. .

  TONS! But many many MANY more would find some way to fake it, "uhh the house belongs to me in trust and I'm forbidden to sell it",
  IMAGINE how much STARBUCK stock would rise from all those new pioneer hours being spent in the coffee shop.

  Yep, a HUGE Chunk would buy into it at least partially. Most would find some way to fake it.

  COMF, the "I like peanut butter, can you rollerskate" is from a poem my friends and I used to say as a kid: "Roses are red, violets are blue, I like peanut butter, can you rollerskate" Just one of those NONSENSICAL things that prepubscent and pubescent boys did to try and get a laugh out of the girls.

  TINA My favorite cadence is "My girls a vegetable, lives in the hospital, but I'll buy her anything, to keep her alive
  She's got a new TV, it's called an EKG, but I'll buy her anything to keep her alive
  She's got no arms or legs, just metal hooks and wooden pegs, but I'll buy her anything to keep her alive
  She's got an iron lung, ya oughtta hear that baby hum, but I'll buy her anything to keep her alive
  She fell and broke her neck, now I can sign her checks, but I'll buy her anything to keep her alive

  Sometimes I play a joke, I pull the plug and watch her choke, but I'll buy her anything to keep her alive

  Catholics cooperating? HMMMMM There were more Catholic Priests KILLED in one concentration camp alone, than the total number of Witnesses imprisoned at all.

  Keep that in mind when you talk about Catholics "cooperating" with Hitler.

  Do you legally join the WatchTower Society ?

  there has been some discussion in the past on whether people became legal members of the watchtower society or not when they got baptised and whether this was made clear to them.

  the wt argues that you are or are not a legal member as it suits them.. here is a thought.... on their website's privacy statement at http://www.watchtower.org/contact/privacy.htm (linked from the 'request contact' form) they say:.

  will the watchtower society disclose the information it collects to outside parties?.
