  Do they still discourage recording the a$$emb£ies and CONventions?

  if so then what are they afraid of?.

  i haven't been to a single solitary meeting, conventions or a$$emby since 2010 but i do recall they would announce a discouraging of recording the sessions..

  I wish this whole topic would end.

  There is no issue. It is so simple.

  Captivity ended in 537. Started 70 years prior in 607. 607 was not the destruction of Jerusalem. When the captivity started is when the gentile times started. Gentile times did not start at Zedekiah, but 20 years earlier at the first invasion. They ran from 607-1914.

  Stop trying to battle the WTS on every issue as this 607 as the destruction was a Nelson Barbour creation. But the gentile times predated even him.

  This whole thing about race is ridiculous. Zimmerman was a latino. One minority against another? That is not what racism is.

  But the blacks don't even learn a lesson from this. If their race is not to be profiled, why are they out with hoodies and protesting and causing problems?

  I don't have a problem with blacks. Saw many of them at the District convention. If Trayvon was at the DC or meetings or in field service or in family worship, he would never have had this problem. Worldly Blacks have always had an image problem, which is why Bill Cosby has said the things he said about them.

  seems that over recent months that jw's were being forbade to participate due to interaction with mentally deseased apostates.

  has this been softened?

  i have a reason for asking.. i use the word "current" because it seems the watchtower "use by" dates are getting shorter all the time.

  the bible says that the personal name of god is jehovah/yahweh/jah etc.thing is,we don't know it's correct pronounciation (or the pronounciation of any hebrew name).the name jehovah as we know it today means "he causes to become".someone who causes something to become is just called "creator" or "maker".right?he gave that name to his self so that people or the angels could call him by a name.also,how was he called before the creation of the anything?how can some people claim to be his friends if they don't know his actual name?discuss.

  New book "Imitate their faith" aka fantasy bible stories

  thanks atlantis for posting a link to download the new book - i had a quick browse.... .

  the book starts off with the now traditional 'letter from the governing body', it goes through the usual stuff re how wonderful the magazines are, how countless people write in to praise the articles etc etc, but it signs off: "with much love and every good wish...".

  I am so sick of Bible stories and characters. I thought we were not supposed to exalt and worship people. These are normal people doing their thing, nothing special about them.

  I mean the story of Hannah. What's the big deal? She prayed intensely. She did something one day of her life and it is recorded and honored forever. Many others did many more things for God and we never hear a peep about that.

  And this drama about Esther. She did nothing.

  They don't discourage the reocrding of them. They are broadcast on low power FM to pick up with recorders.

  They discourage the distribution of them.

  The reason is because people will listen to them from the recordings and not attend their own and then they won't donate.

  Just like what the RIAA was afraid of with Napster. Music sharing hurt their revenue. WTS thinks assembly sharing hurts their revenue.

  hi all, came across this website, ran by steve searles.

  i believe he comes from carlisle, england.. it contains all sorts of "goodies" - talks, dramas, district conventions, old watchtower publications, videos etc.

  he charges a "membership fee" for folks to download ripped off youtube videos etc.
