Kingdom Hall burned down

i hear that a hall was burned down in washington state.

was shot at numerous times.

is the wbts that desperate to merge congo's and collect insurance money and now the land has no building on it the land can be sold with no demo expense.

I was wondering the same thing. If the person who is doing this lost everyone and everything he cared about as a result of their shunning. The thing that drives me nuts when watching and reading the news report about this the people who don't know what the Watchtower is really like, and they say things like

The sheriff said local Jehovah's Witnesses are "terrified."The freedom to worship is a right that should be protected for every person in our country. Our thoughts are with the members of our community affected by this abhorrent act.

If they really knew the things that group put people through, I wonder if they would still say those things?

Before anyone takes offense to what I said, I also want to say that I don't condone what this individual is doing, but I can understand why he is doing this.

harges against a man accused of molesting his 4-year-old cousin in a york county jehovah’s witness kingdom hall in 2005 have been dismissed partly because the alleged offenses occurred when he was a juvenile.. john logan haugh, now 26, who now lives in delaware, was charged in may of this year with two counts of indecent assault of a person under the age of 13 in a case that shed light on the how the jehovah’s witnesses handle child sexual assault cases.

when john haugh appeared in court tuesday morning for a pre-trial conference, his attorney and the prosecutor had a discussion with judge maria musti cook out of earshot of the gallery in courtroom 7006. when court resumed, the prosecutor moved to dismiss the charges.

JW or not, if my husband saw that happen to his child the police would have been notified right away because he would have killed the perp, or at the very best beat the holy hell out of him.

That is what I hear. My personal thoughts are they are cutting back cost, and I keep hearing the numbers are not good for them.

What would make an Ex-Jw go back to been a full in Baptized JW

i was just wondering , why would my jw husband return to been a full blown baptized jw after 20 years of fading?.

he has spent 20 years of his life been a worldly person , with a worldly wife & kids & worldly friends .... to joining the borg full time , to getting baptized , to getting new brothers & sisters .... and to writing off most of his worldly friends (some his known his whole life ) , to trying to convince me & our children how wonderful this org is ......and anyone else who will listen :(.

has anyone ever experienced this ...... oh and he seems to be in it 110% and no-one can say anything about this crazy org or show him proof that it all bs...... his such a clever independent , successful guy , why on earth would he go back to this , after been out for so many years & change into this domineering , opinionated fool ..... oh and his entire family also went back ... father , mother , brother & sister .

I do have one little piece of advice, if your partner brings home any literature for the children, please look through every single page, and pay attention to the illustrations first. There are pictures in their books, magazines, and brochures that will give your small children night terrors. When I was a child I had nightmares that would actually wake me up screaming. I did not put two and two together until after my own children started having some of the exact nightmares, and it was because was those pictures in their publications. Whatever happens between you and your spouse, make sure you protect your children from that cult no matter what it takes.

It's not the first time. I remember back in the 1980s, my mom had just moved to this congregation in Durant Oklahoma a few months before. One of the sisters had gotten remarried, and her ex-husband decided to burn down the kingdom hall then find his ex-wife and her new husband to kill them. He did succeed in burning down the building, but a couple of my classmates saw it happen. They reported this to the police and he was caught before he was able to find the couple he was planning on killing. Found out later, that if he has shown up about a half hour earlier, he would have found one of his intended victims at the hall mowing the lawn. If memory serves me correct, I think the new hall didn't have any windows because of that reason.

i was talking to a friend who is an elder in a congregation near belfast city over in northern ireland.

he was telling me that several of the sisters wanted to put fresh flowers in the hall on a weekly basis just to pretty the place up.

he said "sure, why not, it's a great idea, and the congregation will reimburse the costs as long as they aren't too expensive.

When you were talking about that, it reminded me of a few years back of this talk that was given, and the brother was talking about those little springs you see, usually in ink pens. He was comparing that spring to when you squeeze it flat, and if you let go that spring would go flying out to who knows where. While he was talking about that spring I was thinking about the extreme control they over the organization. They can only hold it down for so long. I am so looking forward to the day when the rank and file does finally wake up.

I didn't, I had a life goal set in front of me as a JW, and it was this. Graduate from high school, and spend the next 5 years enjoying my single life. My goal was to get married after I graduated from high school to get married after 5 years. Then spend two years with my future husband, and then start a family. Which was what I did, and I'm glad I did because after I had my second child, I couldn't have anymore, so if I had waited, I would have missed out on the opportunity to ever have any children.

Leaders or liars

i was a thriving regular pioneer, doing all thr things wholeheartedly, had 16 bible studies, 7 attending meetings regularly, 11 magazine routes and 100's of rv's.

you can imagine i was always runnin out of literature and always a good list of books to order every month.

(not bragging,just stating facts.all this is wasted anyway).

I think we all can relate when looking back on our lives in that religion. There are quite a few times I too think back on my time in it and wonder why I just didn't wake up earlier.
