I just looked at my comment, and realized auto check messed up what I was trying to say. I meant to say,
So what do you call a person who became an apostate against an apostate religion?
when i was growing up, the worst thing a jw could do was be 'blasphemous against the holy spirit'.
that was certain to be instant death in the eyes of the wt.
now, as i understand it, apostacy is the worst thing you can do.

this has probably been discussed before so please feel free to include links as well.
so what would wt be now if it had encouraged it's members to use the internet or technology for spreading the good news.
.
I have a strong feeling if the Watchtower had fully embraced the internet, there would be more JWs leaving than there were. I know it was the aid of the internet that helped me in figuring it all out. In my case I had almost every book dating back to the 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. When I started my research, the kind folks who put together so much information and where to exactly find this information in my very own books at home. If I had gotten onto the internet much sooner, I would have left that cult that much sooner.
i have two questions.
1. if you work on kingdom hall construction, are you allowed to count your time in lieu of field service?
an old thread here indicated that if you are pioneer, you can count your time.
Is this something new, or has this been something that they have always done? The reason I'm asking is because I was both a regular pioneer, and I worked with the electrical crew in building kingdom halls back in between the years of 1989 to 1993. I never counted my time when I was working on any of the kingdom halls, because no one ever told me I could. If I was able, it sure would have made my life a whole lot easier.
most , if not all of jw`s expect it to be paradise ,immediately.. how wrong can they be.. 8 billion + corpses lying around , oh thats right jehovah the magician will fix that with a wave of his wing.. their will not be education above 4th grade as higher education is frowned upon.. women will be restricted to sewing weaving and looking after their husbands needs , and looking after all the children being born to her husband and being in subjection to him.. how many women are in high profile positions in the world today ,including leaders of countries ,and other positions of power and influence ,even in male dominated fields of bygone years .. that will all be gone in the new system ,where women will be put in their place.. children will be forbidden from compettitive sports as thats not permitted anymore , no more tv games ,no more video games , no more just about anything that normal teenagers engage in today.. and no more tv except jw.org tv worldwide with no other channells.
with higher education off the table society is going to slowly sink back to the dark ages and even the stone age.. think about it .
no research in anything , not medical , scientific ,the arts music ,literature ,paintings space ,astronomy etc.etc.,simply because its not necessary now , why ?
I remember shortly after I left the JWs, I ended up getting into a similar discussion with a JW about this. In short I told them I'd rather die at Armageddon than live forever under eternity under the Watchtower's rule. They told me that I was being selfish. To me their idea of paradise would be a living hell, thanks, but no thanks, I'll pass.
so this past week the wife and i have received several phone calls and text messages from our old hall.
we were also invited out to dinner to catch up with some old friends.
an hour before dinner this guys wife messaged my wife and said that she "can't wait for tonight!!
my cousin, whom is not jw, but we have grown up together our whole lives has just gotten engaged to her same sex partner, i am very conflicted on wether i can/should attend the wedding or not.
i am very close with my cousin and her partner and they are very understanding to our beliefs and differences as she grew up with our whole family being jw.
some family members have already said they will definitely be attending and some definitely not attending so i just want some extra advice and guidance!
In the long run, ask yourself this question, would I regret NOT going and supporting my loved one on a very important day of their life? When I was a JW, I did not go to my cousins wedding. Her wedding was in a church (the only reason my mom and I did not go). We was even in town during this time period. I too was very close to my cousin. About six months later she was killed in an auto accident, her husband did survive, but only for about a year. During that year he was alive, he was in a comma. What I'm trying to say, life is too short and too precious allow things to interfere.
yesterday my sister cut her foot on a piece of metal that was sticking out of my yard.
i've lived in my home for almost 8 years now, and well i'm guessing this thing must have worked it's way up to the surface or something, never seen this thing before.
i started to dig it up, and the thing just kept getting bigger and bigger.
I ended up getting $5 for that and the rest of the junk metal that was in my shed. All I had to deal with that day was all the spiders and ants. lol

Yes it took three of us to carry the thing to the back yard, I'm planning on scrapping it. Before me was one other person who owned this home, and before that it was part of some farm land (about 15 years ago), but it is now a residential neighborhood.

Thank you very much, I'll let my sister know this, mystery solved.
