  sykes was one-of-a-kind in the pentecostal movement, but he was considered quite a maverick who went his own way with heretical teachings repugnant to the pentecostal faith.. joshua sykes’ congregation was integrated, unlike pastor russell’s public speeches/sermons where blacks and whites both could attend, but only in separate sections--sykes's members were sitting side by side in the pentecostal church.

  this was considered dangerous and inflammatory at the time.. pentecostal preacher joshua sykes practiced racial and gender "integration" as early as 1908 -- having both african-american and female assistant preachers, staffers, and members.

  And if it is first successful ,then why pull the plug on it .

  Always has been and always will be i`m afraid.

  Letter to my JW elder brother

  i sent the following letter to my older brother, a jw elder in grand prairie, texas, who actively shuns me since i left the religion for conscientious reasons two years ago.. may 11, 2017. dear ronnie,.

  in the opening scenes of the movie gone with the wind, a field worker hollers out, “”quttin’ time!” big sam protests, saying, “i’s da fo’man on tara.

  getting round the territory slowly compared to before?

  from what i know most territory maps in most congregations are being done much much slower than before.

  my congregation is very very slow getting round the territory compared to before.

  then pioneers will have hour requirement coming back in march but they are just not used to getting 3hrs a day 7 days a week.. many congregations used to get round all their territory every so often, now all congregations around north london where i am (yes i’m an ms involved with territory servants) are hardly getting around their territory at all.. of course letter writing was slow going but now back to first call hardly anyone is going out in person and those few that do don’t do that much.. even the elders who are supposed to take the lead don’t seem to come out much at all and when they do i know of more than one example of them only doing ten mins maybe a few houses then going for the obligatory coffee break.

  I can remember the time from 1968-9 when the bro`s were almost running around in the territory because 1975 was so close to the end . Right up until 75/76 when it started to slowly decline again.

  And here we are in 2023 ?

  2023 will see a big push to get rank and file back to in person meetings and ministry.

  they have opened a can of worms with zoom but what they really want is only in extreme illnesses cases can someone use zoom .

  the only problem is they want everyone fully vaccinated which means if you didn’t go for your latest booster in the last several months then you are no longer fully vaccinated and just the same as someone who never accepted any shots right from the start.

  Beleiving in GOD does not equate to beleiving the WT/JW version of GOD of the Bible ,or for that matter any religion who claims to beleive that any GOD of any religion was responsible for Creation.

  And surprisingly you do not have to beleive in the Bible to beleive that a GOD created the Universe ?

  Front row seats watching the collapse of watchtower

  i’m a pimo ministerial servant and i won’t fade because i want to keep my front row seats watching what happens next few years.. my predictions are that this current governing body will slowly die off and the current younger helpers will be the next gb.

  they will eventually have new light that they were wrong about 1914 and the overlapping generations.. the new light will be something on the lines of the last days are now because of king of north king of south pushing each other etc etc.

  they will do their very best to burry old literature and try to change the past trying to make it sound like they were right all along just as they have done for 150 years now.

  Why couldn`t he have embraced all of mankind living on the earth at that time and taken them under his wing ?

  My conclusion is GOD, by whatever name you call him, can`t possibly exist .

  Should Jehovah's Witnesses Trust the Governing Body?

  if there is evidence that jesus invisibly chose specific men at headquarters in brooklyn new york in 1919 to be his faithful slave and that mandate and ability passed on to future directors...then the answer might just be a resounding maybe.. what is the evidence for this invisible appointment and what is the evidence that this is just watchtower mythology?.

  i hope jws like scholar and fisherman will explain why the trust the gb.. i must be honest, i see no evidence at all to put trust in either the 1919 selection or the current men taking the lead in warwick.

  What the GB members of JW`s beleived in 1918-19 and which they claim was approved by Jehovah God and Christ Jesus ,today there is virtually nothing they taught and preached back then that is beleived ,taught or preached today .

  So why would they have been approved of back then ? if nothing taught back then is beleived today ?.......Simply stated they couldn`t have been selected by GOD & Jesus.

  They are delusional .

  were you ever on a congregation picnic?

  i was on several occasions.. the arrangements were often announced from the platform after the closing song and prayer by the last elder up on the platform.. sometimes it was included in the service meeting announcements as "on saturday we're meeting at 10.00am at the kingdom hall for field service, and after field service for anyone who wishes, especially for the younger ones, we will be having a congregation picnic meeting at the beach carpark on seaview road.".

  well, according to the new elders manual you won't be hearing those words again.

  so perhaps we all heard the jw story about jesus talking to gehenna and he was referring to a place outside the city where there was a dump burning refuse and everyone knew what it meant.. according to jw.org: tradition relates that the valley of hinnom thereafter became a place for the disposal of garbage.

  and the bible provides confirmation for this.

  at jeremiah 31:40, for example, the valley of hinnom is evidently called the “low plain of the carcasses and of the fatty ashes.” there was also the “gate of the ash-heaps,” a gate that seems to have opened out onto the eastern extremity of the valley of hinnom at its juncture with the kidron valley.​—nehemiah 3:13, 14.. i think i heard that in the study of the greatest teacher book first.
