Just got a letter from a local JW

a local brother has called on me 3 times in the last few months and has just sent me a letter ,.

in the previous calls we kept it simple : i have'nt been to meetings for years ,don't believe in god now ,etc.

touched on how i was appalled at how the org handles child molestation and they were quick to say that there have been problems but the governing body has it handled now blah blah.

I have just received an e-mail from our friend apologizing for not getting back to me sending an attachment that she wanted me to look up.She said it had to do with the Memorial in the Phillipine`s and I quote:"Good info tonight about inactive one returning" So now I have no doubt about where she stands in regards to the religion ,where as she was always a bit evasive and non committal about it.

So I did open the link and it was an experience given about a young pioneer girl with vision impaired and how she was instrumental in getting so many non witnesses to view the special talk.Overall I think they claim that 30,000 non JW`s tuned in to the special talk.

The experience related is so over the top as being JW propaganda BS ,that it is just so laughable and here she is 40-50 years in and she laps it up thinking I`m going to be impressed by it and return to the fold .

I`ll have to think about how i will respond as my wife says leave her alone don`t upset her its her comfort zone.

That in some ways I agree with her ,but I will have to bite my tongue.

If you can bring yourself to do it ,you won`t be disappointed if you log onto JW.Org and click on the Phillipines memorial where they give this experience. You have to click on whats new to see it .

I was in two minds whether to do it or not but am glad I did just to pick holes in what they said.

New Jobs Coming? Where Have You Worked at?

with many people's jobs been put and "on hold" and other people's jobs going away for good, i couldn't help but think about all the different jobs i've had over the years.

i have been able to adapt and make do.

maybe this will kick in again....or maybe not.

I don`t know where the new jobs are coming ,but you did ask where have you worked at ?

Left school at 14 worked in Leathergoods taking on an apprenticeship

After 12 years decided I needed a change and got a job with Kodak in the testing laboratory for 5 years.

An encounter with some old friends took us interstate and I landed a job with a help from that friend in the oil industry as a lab technician for another 5 years .left their went interstate again and spent another year with the same company.

Went interstate again and got a job with Boral bitumen /roadworks and spent a year there.Left there and spent another year this time with Pacific films preparing chemicals for the photographic developments .

Somewhere in between all of this I spent a year in NSW and going from D2D so to speak landed a Job at Eric Worrells Reptile Park near Gosford and spent a year there.That was very memorable feeding and cleaning up after the wildlife ,one of the highlights of my life.I always regret not getting my son to take photo`s of me looking after these wildlife in my day to day work.

And finally I went back to Qld and got a job with Amoco refinery as a lab technician that was eventually taken over by BP and I ended up their for 28 years .

And i am now retired .Not everything there is in chronological order I just spoke as a memory came to mind .

The reason I moved around so much was because of the religion and I just trusted Jehovah would look after us as a family and in the early days jobs were relatively easy to come by .

I was very naive .And I was just bloody lucky .I shudder to think how we could have ended up .

But looking back now we had a great life ,and had some great experiences ,who else could say they hand fed fairy penguins or had an eagle momentarily perched on their shoulder or fed Dingoes , and fed platypus .?

I am agreeing with Trump on the need to Nationalize issues that affect the entire nation.

i'm generally not a trump fan but i do agree that things that affect the entire country should be handled in a centralized manner.

trump is stating that he will dictate when the states can open up again.

many governors, dems and reps, are fighting that saying that they have the power, not the president.

Jw leaks has a thread about this "Disunited States Of America" that i and others have commented on .

Just to put my 2 cents worth in again : Donald Trump as President of the United States Of America is recognized as leader of the free world and at his word as the Commander in chief of the Armed Forces he can involve his country in a war anywhere in the world ,without any input from all or any states in the USA.

Yet in this case coronavirus he cant get what he wants done and is accused of being a dictator ?

Is he a dictator when he takes his country to war ? that also involves his allies ?

He`s a leader of the free world but can`t get what he wants done in his own country and obviously not regarded as a leader in his own country .?

A President of the United States of America as Commander In Chief Of The armed forces can send his country to war anywhere in the world ,by HIS WORD ? he doesn`t have to have the backing of all or even a majority of the states of the union to do so ? Do I have that right ? yes/no ?

But in this case / coronavirus he is classed as a dictator ? for making an executive decision ? { LOL} As President of the USA .

He is leader of the free world isnt he ? Yet he is not allowed to lead his own country ?

I don`t think this problem would arise in Australia .

Does prophesy negate free will?

not sure if this is in the right subject but here it goes.

i’ve asked this question to a few elders and bethelites but they don’t seem to understand or like the question.

to start off we have to agree that jehovah is all powerful.

So when Yahweh looks at time or "steps into it" on our level he can still see all things past/future/present concurrently. Therefore when he prophesies something will happen it as good as if you did it/are doing it/will do it. You have already chosen your actions at that point in time and he is reporting back what he has seen to prove His glory and power that he Truly is God. Your free will was never touched, you made your choice.

That all sounds very nice and seemingly makes some sort of sense ,but my question would be :

Where is their any real evidence that GOD has made a prophecy in the past and it has had a fullfillment sometime in the future ? Before now ?

Without it all being so ambiguous that you can make anything out of it you want ?

If we are really living in the time of the end ,the very last days of this system of things ,why didn`t he prophecy this say 200 years ago ? why are we looking at writings that were made 2,000 years ago ?

If C.T.Russell or anyone else for that matter in the late 1800`s were used by the Creator /GOD as his chosen people ,how come none of them have ever made or voiced a prophecy from GOD that has come true ? That can become verifiable and absolute ?

Can you name one ? from that time ? The late 1800`s ? Or have these religious leaders all fallen back on what was supposed to have been said 2,000 years ago ?

Would it really be such a disaster if the borg did get hacked and all of their money was given away to some worthwhile genuine charity such as cancer research and helping children with leukemia or some other worthwhile charity ? maybe the Red Cross and the Blood bank research into helping patients.?

Maybe it would be Karma of some sorts.

cardinal george pell the australian catholic who was the 3rd most senior person in the vatican was acquitted by the high court of australia of all sex charges against him this morning.. after serving about 400 days behind bars he is now free to walk out of jail, to the shock of many.. this should make news headlines all around the world judging by past experience..

The police are now investigating Pell again as someone else has levelled abuse accusations against him.

It will be interesting to see how many partook this year that is if the GB have the guts to produce those figures maybe they will stop producing those numbers anymore as it could be so embarrassing.

I have heard on the grapevine some friends I knew in the past who were of the OS and now claim to be of the anointed and have now taken of the emblems.

I find this really interesting how ones that have always previously been of the OS wanting to live in a paradise earth ,getting in touch with nature and the animals ,who have now decided they want to rule with JC in the Heavens over mankind .?

I wonder why it is now they have had second thoughts ?

They also claim their religion is based solely on the Bible Scriptures ,yet their main belief and teaching is centered around them "Announcing Jehovah`s Kingdom" ,true ?

Where in the New Testament are followers of Jesus Christ explicitly told to preach about Jehovah`s Kingdom ?

I haven`t found one

Yet there are more than twenty Scriptures in the New Testament where followers of Jesus Christ are to be witnesses of Jesus Christ and his kingdom.

And I am using the NWT of The Christian Greek Scriptures otherwise known as the New Testament.

And to use the two witness rule JW`s are so fond of using ,here is a third one.

The word for word translation of the Greek into English of the Christian greek Scriptures published by the WTB&TS known as KI the Kingdom Interlinear Of The Christian Greek Scriptures ,the word / name Jehovah nor any other name for God ,does not appear in the Greek text but is deceptively included in the English margin column .
