New World Translation is not much different other translations

key scripture 2 timothy 3:16 should have been translated as “every scripture inspired of god is also profitable for teaching” like many other serious translations (such as american standard version ; douay-rheims bible etc) as it is what the greek text says.. this is in harmony with the contents of bible and also with the writer paul himself who knew after his departure ‘even from his own number men will arise and distort the truth.’ (acts 20:29-30) for example, verses such as romans 7:19 is such distortion.

such verses cannot originate from real paul who was “holy, righteous and blameless.” (1 thessalonians 2:10) hence paul had the freeness of speech to tell others to be “blameless” like him (1 thessalonians 5:19-23; ephesians 5:24) there are many things in the scriptures which are not inspired such as words of satan, words of job’s wife and his false friends, words of judas, lot’s daughters …etc.

apostle peter never disowned jesus because if he had done so, his contemporaries would have interrupted him when he rebuked jews, saying: “you disowned the holy and righteous one and asked that a murderer be released to you.“ (acts 3:14) his listeners would have asked him “what right do you have to reprove us for ‘disowning jesus” when you yourself have done it first?” all such verses or accounts were later adoptions.

,What I have experienced in the Christian religious faith is that people tend to cherry pick what scriptures they want to believe as inspired by God and reject other scriptures they don`t agree with as not being inspired by God.

You seem to belong to one of those people , am I right ?

How have you determined what scriptures are inspired of God in the Bible and those that are not ?

Do you not believe the whole "Bible" regardless of how many books are in it , is the word of God ?

Aren`t you in fact translating what you believe is the Bible , by cherry picking scriptures what is Gods word and what is not ?

What gets me is why do the JW`s religion accept what basically is a Catholic Bible in the first place,or even did what the CJCLDS did and add their own book?

Or maybe that was too much for them to do.

They can`t ever come out and proclaim that message ,because there would be no coming back from it.

They would be proclaiming their own doom ,and there is no way are they going to do that .

It`s a event like Armageddon that is never going to happen.

It`s on the never ever going to happen plan .Another carrot to keep the R&F in expectation of what`s to come.

Just as they did with 6000 years of human existence on earth in the late 1800`s ?

1914 Armageddon

Then 1918-19

1925 the faithful such as Abraham being resurrected to live in Beth Sarim ?

The second world war 1939-45 that was to usher in the new world

1975 was a re-adjusted date for the end of 6000 years of humans on earth when it would be an appropriate time for Jesus Christ to begin his 1000 year reign ?

The new system would be here by the end of the 20th Century ?

And here we are in 2021 with all of those false expectations not coming to pass what fools are we to believe anything that comes out of the mouths of any of the GB members of Jehovah`s Witnesses.

Peace and Security and Mike Flynn

i was on a jw page recently and some dubs were openly predicting the end of the world in a year.

mike flynn (trump advisor) mentioned having one religion in america and the dubs went crazy.

someone even mentioned 1975 on the thread.. it seems to have since been deleted; but there were about 50 comments before i couldn't find it again.

OK Jan ,then you must agree with some of it ? And I can resonate with that.

SOME RELIGIONS I have to agree with you , do a lot of good in a practical way in the communities by their actions and put their money where their mouth is in doing so.

I guess I`m talking about the flip side of the coin that does SFA in a practical sense and does nothing of the sort and just bleeds the flock of their finances and gets tax free exemptions from stupid Govts. that allow them to get away with it.

The R&F of JW`s criticize and condemn Christendoms religions as being false ,yet when they become old and frail where do a lot of them end up ?

Certainly not looked after by the WTB&TS ,they end up in Aged care Facilities run by a Christian Organization.

However not to derail this thread about "Peace & Security" any lurkers should be aware of the UN`s year of Declaration Of "Peace & Security"in 1986 and with the WT`s claim that the UN was the counterfeit Kingdom of God on the earth and then making that declaration certainly got JW`s all excited about the new system about to be upon us.

For the luv of me I can`t see many , if any , Jw`s giving such a final message of judgement against their neighbors in the D2D work.

And i can`t see the GB ever giving that direction to the R&F as that would end their cosy ,comfy profitable ,,lifestyle that they have enjoyed for so long.

Jehovah`s Witnesses thrive on bad / negative news as proof that the end is very soon,just around the corner and so on.

BB refers to the UN designating a year in the 90`s a year of peace &Security JW`s jumped on it as a fulfillment of Bible prophecy.

Of course nothing happened. Nothing that the WTB&TS / JW`s ever predict has ever come to pass.

And nothing will,because they are a man made in America religion that has thrived on fear ,obligation and guilt with their members not to mention the donations of members ,the wheeling and dealing in Real Estate ventures ,and their publishing enterprises.

That has made them a Multi -Billion Dollar Corporation

Religion is a goldmine that feeds on the gullible.

We need to watch this space ,it could get very interesting not only for what the GB decide but also for how the R&F will react to the decision.

We had a similar experience with an old still in JW friend a month or so ago who said" hooray no more witnessing and no more meetings to attend " or words similar.

And we haven`t heard from her since .
