  Bringing Reproach on Jehovah's Name

  all my jw life i was reminded constantly about the importance of not bringing reproach on jehovah's name.

  decisions on whether or not to disfellowship an individual often turned, not on the seriousness of the sin, but on whether the incident was public knowledge and had resulted in bad publicity for the congregation.

  i recall a middle-aged lady being reported to the elders for shoplifting a sweet worth less than £1- and the elders' insistence that a judicial committee must be formed because the store manager and staff knew that she was a jw (i successfully argued that all she needed was support for her dreadful family life, but that's another story).

  The excuses for active JWs to cling to the organisation are becoming more tenuous every day.

  I had a somewhat paranormal experience 2 days ago, but I think science is just light years behind on this.....

  for the record i'm agnostic, never seen any direct evidence of spirits, afterlife, etc.

  i've been visiting my mother during this corona ordeal.

  a year ago i had a dream i was much older and talking to somebody about how my mom died this year but it was avoidable.

  This is an interesting and fascinating post from my perspective. And I especially liked sbf post about it and also cofty`s .

  Thank`s for starting it Bad_Wolf ,though I don`t believe we are going to get a definitive answer to the question raised in our lifetime.

  it's so sad to realize that i was part of the behaviour shown by the witnesses in the video.. this is my neck of the woods, and i recognize some of the yellow vested attendants that control the situation.i used to play football with the big french brother named guy.. if only they could see.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukiqqgfngxk.

  I just love that comment ,if he / she committed that "SIN" ( crime ) he/she was never really a Jehovah`s Witness.

  Even if he/she was just an ordinary publisher , MS ,or an Elder ,a baptized dedicated witness of Jehovah ,their not really a JW.?

  My comment there is ," Well obviously there are no Catholic Priests or Lay people guilty of the "SIN" (crime ) either ,because if they were truly Catholics they wouldn`t have committed those Sins/crime.

  They were not really Catholics.

  it's long overdue, i know, and i apologise profusely but it's tough working full-time and trying to spend time on all the ex-jw work that i want to do...... that said - here are the 2018 survey results for anyone interested and i am already working on the 2019 results.

  also, i'm tweaking the survey for the 2020 release which will be soon..... hugs to all!.

  P. Ms Letter to non subscibers to Redress Scheme

  i will try to post a link.. jtg.. australia.. institutions refusing to join the national redress scheme are "doubling down" on the crime of child sexual abuse, prime minister scott morrison says.. mr morrison and social services minister anne ruston have warned institutions they may lose funding and tax concessions if they fail to sign up by tuesday's deadline and will be named and shamed.. "all institutions are doing in not joining is doubling down on the crime and doubling down on the hurt," they said in a letter to 25 institutions.. "we consider it to be reprehensible that you have failed to sign up to the scheme.".

  the jehovah's witnesses is among the organisations that has refused to sign up, arguing it does not have the institutional settings of other faith-based institutions that the redress scheme is designed to cover.. senator ruston is set to name the non-participating institutions on wednesday, when she will announce what action the federal government will take against them.. "we urge you to join the scheme not because of concerns about being identified, but because it is the right thing to do," the minister and mr morrison said.. "it is the right thing to do by survivors and their families and it is what every, decent, honest, australian demands.".

  Yes you are right ,this Redress Scheme came about as a result of the ARC of Institutions with Child Sexual abuse cases and indentified the JW religion as one of the worst offenders.

  And such institutions have had up to 2 years to comply by June 30th.

  And the JW`s have point blank refused to join and even sent a letter rationalizing their position to the Govt.

  The audacity and arrogance ,let alone not "paying back caesar`s things to caesar " is mind boggling.

  They Are Going To Start Clamping Down With Staying At Home - Local Needs + GB Update #4

  many of us have watched the gb #4 update.

  most of us jumped for joy when they basically said that there will be no meeting in person for a long time to come.. one aspect we overlooked was how hard they hit home the "love of neighbor".

  how this "love" is what makes a true christian and as a result our love for our neighbors will motivate us to stay at home.. well now they released a letter that is instructing all kh's to view this video during their local needs part.

• I agree with those who think its a push to legitimize there selling off more Kingdom halls especially here in Australia where hopefully more victims of child sexual abuse come forward ,now that the Jehovah`s Witness religion has been publicly named and shamed for not joining up to the Redress Scheme.
