Jehovah? Oh dear.
by Giordano insome recent new friends on this forum like friend kosonen are fixated with god's name being jehovah...unfortunately they are wrong:.
a quick bit of history:.
"about the 13th century the term “jehovah” appeared when christian scholars took the consonants of “yahweh” and pronounced it with the vowels of “adonai.” this resulted in the sound “yahowah,” which has a latinized spelling of “jehovah.” the first recorded use of this spelling was made by a spanish dominican monk, raymundus martini, in 1270.. interestingly, this fact is admitted in much jehovah’s witness literature, such as their aid to bible understanding (p. 885).

How can I copy that clip and send it by an e-mail to someone i`m trying to help ? Can it be done ?
Thanks Gorby for posting this.
Widely recognised by who ? Christendom of course ,who JW`s say is the Anti-christ . so they follow on what the anti-christ view of Gods name is.
This is classic you cant make this shit up .
And remember it was a Catholic monk who first coined the name Jehovah in the 13th Century.
So not only do Jehovah`s Witnesses follow the Catholics as to what they consider the bible books to be ,they also follow the catholics in how to pronounce Gods name in English.
And yet they hate the Catholic religion ?
go figure.

Dutch judge rules that elders are not entitled to hide behind clergy-penitent privilege
by Anders Andersen intoday a dutch judge ruled that jw elders and the jw branch cannot invoke clergy-penitent privilege when it comes to information used in a judicial committee.. jw had filed a complaint with the courts because the branch office, two kingdom halls and a few elders' homes were raided by police almost 2 years ago in search of evidence related to child abuse issues.. jw argued that the information that was taken by police is protected by clergy-penitent privilege.
today the judge ruled that 1) an organization doesn't haven't such a privilege, 2) jw elders don't always act as spiritual counselors.
their actions as judges in judicial committees aren't protected by privilege, and 3) conversations jw have with their elders are often not confidential at all (as per jw policy) so jw elders can't rightfully invoke clergy-penitent privilege to maintain absolute confidentiality, because there isn't absolute confidentiality in the first place.. jw are thinking about appealing the verdict..

you were very wrong and admit that your rulings hurt people? We are not talking about slight hurt, it is often grievous life-long psychological problems burdening vulnerable members.
Not only just hurt people ,but give them a death sentence with their unscriptual blood doctrine .
The scriptures show that when a life is at stake ,human life took precedence over the law.
The soldiers who were starving failed to bleed the animals before eating them.
And their was no punishment to them. They were excused because their lives were in danger.

Isaiah 43:10-12 ,That scripture was applied to the Israelites long before the 20th Century was upon us when Rutherford decided to apply it to his religion
When that scripture was uttered to the israelites did they then understand that were to identify themselves as Jehovah`s Witnesses ? no ,and they never did .
If it had have been the intention of God for them to do that then Jesus would have rebuked them and he would have made sure they adopted that name .But he did no such thing.
But what do we find in the Bible ? Followers of Jesus were , " By Divine Providence called Christians" ,not Jehovah`s Witnesses.

A North Korean and an American Delegation were meeting in a neutral country for a conference .The two main members of the delegation met to break the ice and share a few drinks together informally.
After quite a few drinks and some time had passed ,they got on to the differences between the two countries and their attitudes to their leaders .
The American boasted that he could say anything he wanted to about the President : then he goes into a tirade against President Trump ,and when he finishes ,he says ,see ? there will be no backlash or punishment for him doing so .
The North Korean delegate said he could do the same thing with no backlash or punishment against him for doing so from his Leader Kim Jon- Un .
And then he proceeds to go into a tirade against the American President Donald Trump.

Michael Palin: North Korea - Similarities In N.Korean and JW Mentality
by pale.emperor indid anyone catch michael palin's travel documentary in north korea?
it was a fascinating insight into such a secretive and controlled country.
totalitarian, suppressed and yet i found a few similarities to jw mentality.. particularly, this segment, where michael asks his handler about the limitations on freedom she has.

Well you certainly can`t criticise WT LEADERS can you .Oh that`s right they don`t have leaders do they ,everbody`s on the same level in the WT religion .
A P.O. may have a part on the platform and when he`s finished he will sit down among the rest of the congregation and he doesn`t wear any clothing that distinguishes him from anybody else .
Their leader was Jesus Christ ? say what ?
That`s how I was introduced to the "clergy" in 1960.
Oh that`s right they have a clergy class do they ? Until their in a court of Law that is, and then they cry Clergy Penitent privlidge to not divulge some vital information.

Here in Australia the Prime Minister outlines a broad outline of what is expected during a stage 3 lockdown for the nation .However each state has a Minister that interprets what is essential for that state under those guidelines .
Some states have far greater infections than other states and so more stricter control is needed , whereas some states with very few infections or even no infections for days , feel they can ease up on restrictions and ease back a bit more
I don`t see any problems with the way things are handled here .One size doesn`t fit all .Common sense needs to prevail.
