the wt teaches that the memorial ( communion) should only be celebrated yearly and only the anointed can partake of the bread and wine .
is that right ?
i don't think so ..
Thanks jhine.
Your post reminded me of all the changes they have made to the great crowd and the memorial.
Have I got it right?
1.Initially there was no GREAT CROWD - all bible students had a heavenly hope and had annual memorial and partook the bread and the wine.
2.Great Crowd introduced (1930's) - NOT ALLOWED to attend annual memorial.
3.Great Crowd allowed to attend memorial ('to observe') - but must not partake (year??)
4.JW's are by now mostly all great crowd - smaller and smaller numbers of the remnant attend and partake.
5. 2024 - Memorial still a great crowd affair with all new ones invited 'warned off ' taking emblems - but number of remnant increasing greatly (how many?)instead of shrinking as was the case in the past.
okay people, you know the drill.
give us your best estimate for where jabba the hut's fatter, broker cousin will be with patrons on january 2.. some numbers to consider:.
last september is when he did his beg-fest and peaked at 478. just two months later, early november, he was down to 427. .
CONGRATULATIONS!👍👍👍👍
prompted by a mention in a different thread.. cracks in the sidewalk, a pinch of salt over the shoulder, black cats🐈⬛; do jws have such superstitious beliefs.
are they allowed to?
would they be counselled if the elders became aware?.
Terry - LOVE that pic! 👍👍🤣🤣
i’ve decided to disassociate from the jw organisation.
i cannot be part of a community that blatantly rejects the sacrifice of jesus in that demonic memorial ritual.
amazing what information you find when you start researching.. i’m writing my letter and posting it to the kingdom hall this morning.
I had a friend who DA (disassociated) about twenty years ago. The elders tried everything to stop that. But my friend was adamant.
Then about ten years ago they said to me they should have faded like me and not DA themselves because it would have caused such less hassle with all their JW family over the years.
Then a couple of years ago my friend suddenly decided to get reinstated.
I don't know how long they will last in the all new borg after being so cynical about the religion, the elders and the members of the congregation.
I guess what I have noticed is that things change, people change and you can never really know what is going to happen, or what's going on in someone's head - even if you think you know them very well...
Leaving the jw cult is not easy - it's damn hard - and the jw leadership have certainly made it that way.

👍👍🤣
That's brilliant!
someone asked me recently when did i start to have doubts as an elder about what i was teaching from the platform.. i have given it a lot of thought and i can say that it was when i was delivering a public talk about the book of hebrews.
so i paused and read it again.. i looked at the audience and said to them let's look at the cross-reference for this verse which is hebrews 12:22 and i read that verse.
after which i remember saying "and this is how the outline puts it.... " and i read from the outline verbatim.. abraham was not looking forward to an earthly kingdom hope.
Is Jesus or God the Alpha and Omega? In the New Testament Revelation to John, the term is used as the self-designation of God and of Christ.
Does Revelation 22:13 prove that Jesus is “the Alpha and the Omega”? No. The speaker at Revelation 22:13 is not specifically identified, and there are various speakers in this chapter. Commenting on this section of Revelation, Professor William Barclay wrote: “Things are set down without any apparent order; . . . and it is often very difficult to be sure who is the actual speaker.” (The Revelation of John, Volume 2, Revised Edition, page 223) Thus, “the Alpha and the Omega” at Revelation 22:13 can be identified as the same Person given this title elsewhere in Revelation—Jehovah God.
how many can you think of.... they speak for god.. it would seem presumptuous to say they speak for god,.
they are neither inspired nor infallible.. they are god's only channel for issuing truth here on earth.
they won't be apologising for any errors/falsehoods they have promoted in the past that fail.. congregation members must be quick and apologise for their errors to avoid harsh discipline/disfellowshipping.. when they change a major belief/doctrine you must not complain or criticise them.
We don't control, micro manage you or tell you what to do - everything is your own personal choice dictated by your own bible trained conscience.
If you are a brother, you may now grow a beard.
an elder with half a brain (and they must exist 🧐) is going to see the writing on the wall with the way the wt is manoeuvring them into taking the fall over csa cases.
can an elder in good standing step down with no consequences, official or social?.

It's easier to step aside and walk away, than to say the wrong thing and get kicked out.
👍👍👍
So agree with this - I have had so much peace since gently but firmly fading away.

Thank you very much for your post.
Your post reminded me of puzzling over that Hebrews 11:10 verse from a jw standpoint as a studious regular pioneer many rears ago..
(I seem to recall reading that Barbara Anderson mentioned Heb 11:10 to a GB member who said something like 'We don't focus/dwell too much on that verse.' If anyone can remember that??)
I hated things as a regular pioneer that I could not explain and prove to householders biblically from a jw perspective.
Heb 11:10 was one.
Another was Rev 19:1 - Great Crowd in heaven.
And also my worst one when conducting a bible study with someone:
For many decades it was taught that the full number of the 144,000 had been chosen by 1935.
God how I hated trying to prove this biblically!!!!
"But it seems that in the mid-1930's, the full number of the 144,000 was basically completed." Watchtower 1996 Aug 15 p.31
