  This Generation/ 1975

  i was born in 1977 & came in as a convert in 2003 --- so i have no idea what went on before my time.. however i have been familiar with the scriptures of "nobody knows the day or hour" & " it will come as a theif in the night" meaning that it was sure but unpredictable time.

  how could anyone belive that anyone else ( organization or not) put a date on it?.

  also what was the significance of 1975 anyway?

  The last circuit overseer we had before I left was not a born in C.O.

  The servants and elders meeting he took with us focused heavily on the evils of pornography.

  He put down his notes at one point and said

  "Brothers I was in the world for most of my adult life till I got the truth 25 years ago.I was in a rough and ready trade with rough men.

  We all looked at pornography. - Figures (from memory) suggest 8/10 or was it 80 percent of men will look at some sort of pornography."

  I think he was telling us all not to bullshit him as a former worldly man...

  I got a text asking for my Dad's report while he was in the hospital receiving chemotherapy.

  I sent a text which explained this to the service overseer who had just texted - he never replied...bastards.

  reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".

  You think NEW LIGHT has nothing to do with the Lighting section at Home Depot.
  You think TRACT has nothing to do with a piece of land.
  You know when Nisan 14 of the Jewish calendar lands in the Gregorian calendar from year to year,
  and yet you commonly forget your own birthday.
  Memorial Day isn't in May.
  You spent days in a Baseball stadium, never saw a ball and didn't have a beer.
  You feel Formal Clothing and Civic Center belong in the same sentence.
  You think nothing of letting your friends stop by to use your bathroom.
  You know the cleanliness of every coffee shop for four towns around.
  You can't buy a pair of shoes without thinking about how comfortable they will need to be while
  walking residential streets in 95 degree heat.
  You have a tendency to refer to books by color instead of names.
  You can't pick a book or anything else to read without grabbing a Highlighter or pen to underline
  something.
  You think it is complementary to refer to someone as a study.
  You have Get Togethers instead of Parties.
  After a Get Together in your home, your house is still clean and you have more food than what you

  Yes, when the C.O. came to the hall once and saw a large amount of very old volumes he reacted as if we'd been keeping porno mags in the kingdom hall library!!🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

  let's get the fun started and put in our votes for how far down the pumpkin patch lord of the fries will fall in november.. for those keeping score, last month he started at 457 patrons, did some begging and managed to bump those numbers up to 478, but as of this writing he's down to 439.. so, how well do you think the grift will continue this month?

  What Happened to 2034?

  some years ago the wt started putting it out there that noah took 120 years to build the ark, and since the wt was the new ark, it may allow them up to 2034 (1914 + 120) before armageddon.

  it could have been their new 1975 to get excited about, but i don't see any mention of it at all now.

  what happened during the two decades since last i observed anything about the wt?.

  Here's what Ray Franz wrote in his second book:

  In a little more than a decade, the only persons born on or before
  1914 will be those who are centenarians. As documented in
  Crisis of Conscience, despite the confident-sounding statements in
  Watch Tower publications, a considerable number of Governing
  Body members had long recognized that the traditional teaching
  about “this generation” was proving more and more tenuous.
  There is no other explanation for the fact that in 1980 the members
  of the Chairman’s Committee drew up and presented a document
  which, if its reasoning had been accepted, would have placed
  the start of “this generation”—not in 1914—but in 1957, when the
  Soviet Union launched its first Sputnik!
  Finally the teaching became so obviously untenable that a major
  change in the definition of “this generation” was made, applying it to
  “the peoples of earth who see the sign of Christ's presence but fail to
  mend their ways.” The time factor thereby virtually disappears!
  A similar pattern of shifting definitions can be found in the
  Watch Tower publications’ efforts at fixing 1914 as the time when
  a unique worldwide “sign” appeared, related to war, famine, earthquake
  and pestilence.

  Let's irritate the hell out of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses! Does anyone know what the 2024 Year's Text is going to be...or does anyone have the means of finding out?
