Reinstatement...the aftermath?

i'm in the process of being reinstated ( my df'ing story is on here).

because i've never been in this position before, i don't know how i will be treated once i'm reinstated.

i moved to a new city/state and i don't know a single person here or in my new congregation i am attending.

Annual Meeting 2023

i came from the world, so did not grow up in the truth and i have no family in the truth -- i am alone.. last year i met a brother & we did have premarital sex while we were dating.

If you really want to be reinstated Sue it will happen - you may need to be patient.

When I was pioneering I studied with a young lad.

He married an elders daughter and became an elder himself in his thirties.

After about ten years of marriage he and his wife confessed to premarital sex just once before they got married.

He was asked to step down as an elder and they received a private reproof.

A few short years later he was made an elder again.

A few years after that he was made the presiding overseer/coordinator of the elder body - he still is many years later.

So there is definitely a way back if you want it - I just wouldn't hold much hope for confidentiality as the guy I studied with would surely die if he realised EVERYBODY knows all his private business....

What the Elders Book Actually says about Suicide and Judicial Hearings for Disfellowshipping

"the shepherd the flock of god elders’ manual had instruction to take notes, sign and file them in judicial cases where the accused threatens suicide.

this instruction was removed in 2020. pic 1 is 2019 version, pic 2 is from a 2020 edition.

it remains the same in 2023.

An elders daughter claimed to be suicidal and also appealed her judicial committee's decision to disfellowship her near were I live about ten years ago.

Her father was a strict elder who strained the gnat for everyone else except his thoroughly spoilt daughter.

I asked him why she was appealing - he said it was because she could, not that she had any grounds.

I asked about being suicidal - he said of course she wasn't but she may get off on this technicality.

He said she was too valuable as a spiritual asset in the congregation to be disfellowshipped.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Unknown to the judicial committee, she was also shagging three or four other 'brothers' regularly at the time this was all going on...

Her elder father was a complete disgrace who made everyone else's life a misery with his strict, exacting rules.

A classic pet line of his was: 'If you haven't been on early morning ministry you can't go on the congregation bank holiday day out.'...what a complete hypocrite/tosser he was!!!!
