  Is this still their view about "Those resurrected"?

  do the jw's still teach that those resurrected will not marry and be without a sex?

  can't help but think that it is the same with those hit with radiation during a bombing.. .

  after reading another thread on pedophiles i was wondering if there is a pedophile epidemic or is it just that we now have more access to the information?

  it seems like everywhere you read there are more and more cases being reported.

  are we becoming a nation with no morals at all?

  jude 1:9 shows that michael didn't dare rebuke satan.

  if jesus is michael, then why would he be afraid to do so?

  in matthew and mark it clearly shows that the demons were afraid of jesus..

  Probably because the bible was written by man. So many contradictions, at least to me... Another reason I no longer trust the bible. I am sure there is a better explanation then mine tho..

  After reading another thread on pedophiles I was wondering if there is a Pedophile epidemic or is it just that we now have more access to the information? It seems like everywhere you read there are more and more cases being reported. Are we becoming a nation with no morals at all? I can't help but wonder where it all is going..what is next. The older I get the more it seems like humans are throwing all morals to the wind. Sad..I heard a comment on TV that really struck me..they said that we are being conditioned ..nothing shocks us anymore. At least that's how it seems to me. People need more and more excitement to stimulate themselves..which includes nothing is sacred..

  Maybe I need to stay away from the news for a while. Course at my age not keeping up with current affairs may get me diagnosed as senile..

  Curious change in December 15 Study Article

  i ran across a change between the printed edition of the december 15, 2013 wt study edition and the magazine as a pdf download from the jw.org website.. whether the change amounts to much, i'm not sure.

  but it is curious.

  Sounds like they are afraid of saying something they may get sued for and are trying to be extra careful of how they say it..

  sorry if this isn't the right place to post this - brand new member here.. i recently caught up with an old friend who is a jw.

  she's been witnessing to me, and i've accepted all her handouts because i don't want to hurt her feelings.

  but now she's asking me for my "thoughts" about what i've read so far.

  If they weren't promised "Everlasting Life" would they still be a JW?..

  It's always a selfish reason why they are one..very few would answer truthfull if you said " Would you still be a JW if you were making it possible for your enemy to live forever but not you or your family?

  What are the best questions to ask an elder?

  so my parents cannot answer my question and are pretty much pushing me to go to the elders for an answer so i'd like to know what the best questions to ask an elder are.my first question is going to be the mediator one..and if he tells me it's the 144,000 or the anointed, i'll ask him to show me where it says that in the bible.what are some other tough questions for an elder to answer?assuming we can get past the mediator one of course.i'm going to hold off on asking about new light or 607... also, has anyone ever asked about how satan can cause wwi in july if he wasn't expelled from heaven until christ became king in october?i haven't gotten much of an answer to that either..

  What was their motivation for taking the job in the first place... No matter how they answer it always comes down to a selfish reason..

  Why are they encouraged to "Move up" in the organization and why are they treated like royalty when they do?

  Humble my foot..

  Would they still "Love Jehovah" if there was no everlasting life promise?..

  Look who's coming to dinner...

  since i have recently received all of my cooking stuff out of storage from indiana i decided i wanted to do something i haven't done in a long while: cook a big thanksgiving feast and invite family and dear friends.

  the friends won't be a problem, it's the family that mostlikely won't show.

  i've asked my brother who lives fairly close and he said he didn't know because he and his wife would be coming home for a trip two days before.

  When we were witnesses my non JW Dad and Mom would have us over for turkey..pretty soon my JW mother in law decided she was going to cook their free turkey they got from my father in laws work every year on turkey day cause that's when he had a day off and it was more convenient.(She used to cook it on Saturday) .making sure eveyone knew they were not celebrating Thanksgiving..it was just a more convenient day to have it..even tho the first few years my parents always had us over. For years we had to go to 2 Turkey dinners so as not to hurt any feelings after that..

  One year my JW Mother in law didn't know her gas tank was running low and ran out while cooking..the turkey wasn't getting done..They eventually checked the gas and switched it over to a new tank.So my hubby (JW and the boss) decided we would cancel my parents and wait for his Mom's to get done..they only lived 10 minutes away from each other..To this day I think she planned it that way so her son wouldn"t have to go for "Thanksgiving Turkey" with non JW's..Now that I look back I can see so much munipulation from her..it angers me because I know it really hurt my parents..Thankfully I left the religion before my parents died and was able to make up for some of the pain I caused them.

  SAD news about OOMPA......

  our friend, oompa, has passed away.

  just recieved the news a couple of hours ago, and have almost no details.

  it happened today or yesterday, he took his own life.

  Just saw it on another site..I was wishing it wasn't true. I wish people leaving the religion could see there actually is a life outside the JW community..you just sometimes have to look for it. My heart aches for "Oompa" and prays his family wakes up so his death will not be in vain. You will be missed..
