First of all I am so sorry your Uncle is having to go through so much pain..I hope it goes easy for him. My heart goes out to you!
And I'm not surprised about the actions of the witnesses,..they only wanted to pray because so many were there (in my opinion) ..they like to put up a front. When my hubby was in hospital and got his 6 month to live speech from the doctors..the laison committee moved in..they came to visit but no one offered to say a prayer for my hubby..I am disassociated but not disfellowshipped. I had to ask them to say a prayer..they finally said a short one. Then when he was at home in his last days 2 witnesses (brothers) came to visit(their one visit) ..again no prayer..my hubby was in good standing just not as active as they would have liked in earlier days..they acted like it ws to late to pray as he was already dying..they actually looked at me like I was crazy when I asked them to say a prayer. He loved his religion and I thought it would give him strength to face his dying. If hubby wasn't so sick I would have liked to slap the silly right off their stupid faces..
No love lost on them..
