i'm sort of angry right now.. no, not angry..... i'm shaky.

at least, when i lift my cup of coffee to my lips, sitting here at starbucks, my hand is trembly.. i hate that!.

the power they have to still reach me on some hidden point that hides in the corners of my very being.... .

Terry, I'm sorry they still seem to have a hold on your emotions..

I also have encountered their response that "They (The Elders etc) are only men and god will judge their hearts"..speech when faced with comments about their behavior!

It does sound like you answered from your heart tho..hopefully that made an impression on their hearts and will get them thinking ..

Sorry they shook you up so to speak..hopefully the day will come when you realize they are just people and not to be feared..

Were there 2 witnesses when you were DFd?

of the some 70,000 disfellowshippings each year (some 1% of the membership) most were for sexual misconduct.

of these, i think i'm safe to say that very few were witnessed by a third party.

that means that both participants had to voluntarily confess in order to satisfy their 2-witness rule.. know of any that didn't meet this rule?.

I disassociated myself. In the letter I told them what THEY were doing wrong..

I never was disfellowshipped (My JW MIL inquired years later ) even tho I told them I no longer would consider myself to be "One of them"..

I left back in the 70's.

jehovah's witness children will continue to doorknock neighbourhoods with adults who have failed to gain police background checks after a bid to stop the practice failed this week.. gippsland carpenter steven unthank, a former member of the religion who says he was abused as a teen by a church elder, was given approval by victoria's chief magistrate to take the unusual step of launching a private prosecution of the religion over its refusal to require ministers to gain police checks, but says he cannot afford the $350 fee for filing the charges.. mr unthank yesterday said he could not pursue the religion on his own.. he said it was a disgrace that neither victoria police nor the justice department would enforce the working with children act, which requires ministers of religion to gain police checks before working unsupervised with minors.. the religion's corporate arm in australia, the watch tower society, says it does not believe its ministers need to obtain background checks to work with children because they do not typically work unsupervised with children.. ``it's an absolute beatup,'' a spokesman said.

No matter, the Watchtower society has more money and more lawyers to fight with overall..apparently money talks in their government. The one with the most rules...

But at least it was brought to a lot of people's attention. And when and if abuse ever shows up there by the witnesses the Government can be told they were warned.

Hopefully that will never happen!

I have shingles

i was officially diagnosed today.

started out a little over a week ago with pain in my back, and a week ago the rash appeared.

according to the dr, it seems i have been through the worst, and should clear in a week or so.

So glad it didn't get any worse..My MIl had it really bad for a year..at least.

So you can't relax?... It's a wonder you haven't had a case of shingles every year with all you have been through lady..

Have Birth Pangs been getting worse throughout history?

at genesis 3:16 jehovah told the woman that he would increase or multiply her pain in childbirth.

does this not indicate that there would have been some pain at childbirth even if the woman had not sinned?-g. v., belgium.. .

genesis 3:16 (nw) reads: "to the woman he said: i shall greatly increase the pain of your pregnancy; in birth pangs you will bring forth children, and your longing will be for your husband, and he will dominate you.

Back in the 50's I can say there were no "Pleasure " pains associated with my childbirth of 3 children!

You were lucky if you got the wiff of gas before the head came out and ripped you to shreds..then there was the fun of waking up 2 minutes later to being sewed up without any painkiller..made you suck your breath in..Like "OUCH"!!! (Being nice here)

Then if you nursed you had the fun of those contractions all over again..OUCH!!!

Then for the next year you were lucky if you got 6 straight hours of sleep a night..

When I had the 2nd child I begged hubby to keep circleing the hospital cause I knew what I was in for..

Childbirth, ahhhh you gotta love it..I would trade it for adoption anyday!

I do have to say it was easier the next times..not harder.

i discovered the website for these when googling online contacts.. they are made by the inventor of disposable dailies.

he is on a mission to make them available at a realistic price that reflects the cheapness of making them.

this saving has not been passed on to the customer by the likes of johnson and johnson, allergan, bausch and lomb.. i was paying three times the price for true eye and acu vue.

Do you believe in an annointed class?

regarless of their identity - in fact, if they are really "discreet" their identity should probably remain unknown - do you believe the bible speaks of a spirit annointed class of folks, a limited number of humans that have been called to heaven to serve with jesus?.

No, if there is a God he shouldn't play favorites..

Why should some qualify to go to Heaven and not others..clearly they aren't any better than anyone else..
You can see that by looking at the so called JW "Annointed"..

Could a Cult personality be someone's Authentic Personality

we all know theory, that a cult personality masks the authentic.

but after reading some of the cult indoctrinated posters here , i am beginning to think that they are showing their authentic personalities.. they don't appear to show any true human emotion or demonstrate any independant thinking ability, ony what they are told feel and think by the cult.

is it possible that some people are born to be cult members in order to survive?.

Until a person is strong enough to believe in their own decision making abilities they will continue to let some organization or person make their decisions for them..it's a copout for a weak personality ..

Some people are even happy that way..

That's why counseling helps so many cult members..it gives them the strength to believe in themselves and their decision making abilities

I also wanted to add that when subjected to the worst abuse (verbal or physical) it can turn a strong man/woman into a cowering wimp..
