  15 years ago there were 5 congregations now there is only one and it is still struggling.

  congregations closing their doors doesn’t mean business is good.

  it looks like this last one to fold had no young witnesses, they either left the religion or moved.

  Some of those who make the effort will feel as if they're proving their dedication. They are the ones who get asked to be interviewed in circuit and district conventions. "Brother A, what was your situation like?" "Well Brother B, we had to make a two-hour round trip to the meetings, but we were determined to do it, even when the weather was bad and we were sick, we trusted in Jehovah! And that time we were beaten and mugged on the way back home, we praised God that at least they didn't kill us!"

  My mother dragged us to meetings during times when we had to walk through some bad areas and take a 30 minute bus ride. Nothing would have stopped her.

  Overlapping Generation

  the september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.

  his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .

  no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.

  I can just imagine the GB asking people to keep them updated on which oldest person met which youngest person so that they can figure out just how long this new concept will go.

  i was under the impression that it was going to be a short war, that russia’s military would indeed subdue ukraine’s forces quickly but that is not happening.

  seems that russia’s military power is much less than it’s reputed to be.

  The media narrative is heavily influenced by the geopolitics of the 20th century, when Russia and the USA emerged as world powers in opposition to one another. I think this is one of the things that drives Putin, who can remember when the USSR was a very strong and very influential presence. I think the attitude has changed a bit in the USA, since the narrative here was that we won the cold war and humbled mighty Russia. I don't think there is the stomach for a fight, which is why the world has tried to put an economic stranglehold on Russia.

  Which might work in the long run. And that might create a concern all its own. What happens when the world can 'cancel' an individual nation?

  The defensiveness in his final reply in that chain above is mystifying. Anyone reading his tweets would think he sounded worried over how the school handled his daughter's tryout and concerned over how it might affect her. But no, he "didn't say [he] was worried." As if the idea that he would be worried over his young child was offensive. He was put off by it so much that he took a cheap shot at someone who was trying to be helpful.

  I can understand why people compare him to the GB. If you support him, that isn't good enough. You have to make sure to support him in a specific way-- never question, criticize, or even offer advice. Just nod your head and tell him how right he is, and he'll accept that... maybe.

  various researchers a have been looking for an anti-aging pill based on the assumption that, if you can maintain a higher.

  level of various endogenous anti-oxidants ( catalase, sod, etc), you could probably slow down the aging process.

  But they are not crimes.

  I mean in the sense that he is making accusations. In Croatia, defamation can be a crime in certain contexts, and that is what Evans is asking the court to prosecute. As for the specifics, he has continued to insist --bizarrely-- that it's not his obligation to reveal them, so I have no idea just what he thinks they did and how it constitutes criminal activity.

  It would be interesting if he included specific claims, with examples, in his filing. The court will likely throw the case out, but I don't see why they would seal it. I think it's possible that some part of it would be accessible online at some future point, though I don't know how thorough they are with cases of this nature that are so easily dismissed.

  I am guessing that he expects that the case will be dismissed, and then he can gripe about the court system while never discussing specifics. But this puts him in a bind going forward-- if he is going to file a civil case and have it heard, he has to produce something. At some point, he needs to add documentation to his filing so that he actually has something to sue over. That could be the next big pratfall for him. I'm curious to see how long it takes for him to file a civil suit (if ever) and what he reveals as the case moves along.

  I think his legal case will fail because he's asking the court to deal with crimes that are outside of its jurisdiction. And I think he knows that, but decided to put on an act so that he could continue to threaten and bully people, as well as use the case to distract from his personal failings.

  Andy Warhol mentioned that one day, every person would have his/her 15 minutes of fame. But such things are not dependent on a sanity or intelligence check. So we've grown into a world where we can easily access endless examples of our worst moments.

  We can also find examples of our best moments, but no one slows down to watch when a person is driving safely, after all.
