howdy from witnet
by therealObed inhi folks,.
i caught a thread here that discussed some of what's been going on at witnesses.net.
i thought maybe some of you might want to ask questions about "witnet" and i'd probably be in the best position to answer.. otherwise, just saying hello.

Hi-ya
Yes...you can tell that the code is my own work because it's...erm...unfinished. New version is in the pipeline to allow WAP, Palm, PocketPC access etc...
It will be ready 'one day'
Nice to hear from you and if you are the 'real'Obed, I think the post you made when Joe Mesko passed away was very nice. -

We're back...we made it !
by Simon inyo y'all.... well, our holiday has come to an end...we had a long flight back from sunny calgary to dismal, raining, gloomy manchester and the kids were terrific on the plane again (night flight to they slept most of the time).. the country was incredibly beautiful, the people were very friendly and helpful and we all had a great time.
it is not good to be back!.
it was really good being able to spend so much time with my dad and meet relatives (nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws) for the first time.

Thanks for the welcome waiting
The 'yo' thing was just me trying to be all hip and trendy - it's probably not even called 'hip' anymore is it ?
Since we've got back we've really noticed the difference in service and the prices that we pay for things. Did manage to get some 'gas' though which I didn't expect - there wasn't as big a queue for the diesel which means I don't have an excuse to stay off work on Monday (although I'm a contractor so if I don't work I don't get paid...three weeks off - Ouch !) -

I leave the country for a few weeks and look what happens...
We've just arrived back in britain to utter chaos...queues of cars at the few garages that have some petrol.
My brother reckons it's just a coincidence of course -

Not really much need to tell everyone that this is from someone calling themselves 'sysadmin' and not someone in the role of sysadmin.
Sad little person. -

Week from hell
by Kismet inno need to reply but i am in need of venting.. let's see where to start?
oh let's start on sunday afternoon when i am informed that australia is off now.
the manager who offered me the job spoke out of turn and her boss has told her not to replace the guy who quit.
-
Simon
Hi Kismet - hope things pick up for you.
I went through a bad experience with an employer a few years ago but things are a lot LOT better now. In hindsight, I think they did me a favour - I would hate to imagine myself still there instead of where I am now. Quadrupling my salary was nice too- Simon
