  i wondered about that when i heard garret loesch state that shortly before the tribulation the governing body would be taken up.

  .

  if this is the case, it seems like garret and the other seven would be there just in time to help out in the killing of billions.. i thought they used to say that some would survive armageddon before they were taken up..

  since god's people as a group are protected, what is a protected running like? easy, on a treadmill, hamster cage (protected from the big cat, roaring lion) . with the masters re-setting forever more distant goals, time on the track. busy, busy, going nowhere fast.

  Sunday's talk: "How to survive the end of the world". easy again. We, as a group, survived 1914, 1925, 1942, 1975, the end of the century, and will survive the end of the overlapping generation* too. wt.

  PS: * but it, the generation, will not survive, by their own admission.

  How did ancients know entire Earth was covered by water?

  surprised? wt teachings, when examined, have profoundly affected my generation.

  Then, Wt gave us ~ 6 years.

  Now they give the followers ~60.

  let it not be said that nobody was watching.

  Why the meetings are boring and uninspiring

  each individual may have their own views as to why they feel the meetings are boring and uninspiring.

  in my case i find the midweek meeting so, because of the constant emphasis on pitching watchtower literature.

  its just monotonous and one big yawn.. i watch other christian faiths where they open up a chapter of the bible and discuss it's contents.

  JV2:--I know a very young speaker who in the last, no. 5? talk, (that has now been eliminated) yielded to his father's advice, admonition. The talk was on "The meek will inherit the earth- 144 000, New world etc." but he finished with the conclusion : " and is it not pleasant, desirable to have meek people around us today? " a rare quality in that congregation. scrubbed from the list. too entertaining.

  Will #metoo have an affect on forcing changing attitudes at Watchtower?

  despite decades of the feminist movement, watchtower's attitude of woman being inferior has changed little, with pauline sexism justified as inspired, on the basis that women are lesser emotionally, intellectually and physically.

  jehovah's witnesses seem to accept this with little resistance.

  As you are deeply familiar with a matriarchal society, the coming posts should have neutral treatment by you.

  Humanity seems to have been struggling for a long time how to fit the aggressive sexual nature of males into an acceptable harness, and a new standard in western societies seems to tip into a total reversal, where it is only the female that is allowed to show readiness to get the ball rolling on the gentlest of slopes.   I would be very surprised if there is a recent "brother Weinberg" in the closets of the wt hierarchie. But yes, there is at least one female in my immediate family that has been seriously propositioned in bethel. Never a thought of me too ing that.

  This question of yours would not involve minors, therefore not have a criminal / police dimension. so, keeping them hushed up, would be so much easier. Theocratic me-tooers would not exist.
