  in a recent canadian case i've seen (on line video in threads on here) the wt lawyer says that disfellowshipping isn't actual shunning but only a cutting off of spiritual association.

  but what case is it and is there a transcript available on line?.

  any other "good" examples from the point of view that it proves wt speak out of both sides of their mouths?.

  I can see where his description of post-disfellowshippings/DAs situations could apply in a close knit family, with a minor living at home, but not to all JWs, as he clearly spoke,

  Example: there was a young teenage baptism experience here, where the kid was moved to dedication by the closeness of the overlapping generation's end., but if he would now be agitating in the congregation, when he found out, that wt really opened a way to 2075 and beyond, that would be disrupting the dozing congregation, The Elders would really shut the spiritual family conversation down, for fear the truth would spread.

  Yeah, your opponent's lawyers are always liars Fisherman,

  you are grasping at straws if you think that this blatant misstatement was wrongly interpreted here because of preconceptions. That was a straight faced blatant lie., when applied to the client / customer relationship that is the subject of the suit.

  That is a despicable lie. In one of the last midweek meetings, a video was shown, where a mother is commended for not answering a disfellowshipped daughter's dialing her mother. According to this lawyer, the mother should have answered, because how did she know that her daughter did not have bible question? or perhaps wanted to tell her mother that her grandchild had died?

  woj:-- guess what, just browsed through tomorrow's wt, October 2017 and it is all about the meaning of 2 mountains, 4 horses, and ladies with stork wings* (I kid you not) from Zechariah's prophecies. Meaning assigned to even to the lead in the lid.

  * wt upsets ancient myths. I knew storks brought babies, but ladies with stork feature? new to me!

  ps: two such delivery stork-like ladies, carrying not a baby, but full grown women, in a partial lead container to Babylon. (almost as bad as a lead Zeppelin)

  1300 attendance 11 teenagers baptised (.85 growth) $12,000 expenses.

  biggest facepalm moment- teenage pioneer says she pioneers because "the overlapping generation is getting up there in years ,so time is short" as the saying goes "those that don't know history are doomed to repeat it".

  Very odd for a person that has not seen 1975 to be concerned about the overlapping generation.

  A typical overlapping generation member as exemplified by Frederick Franz & successor is not "--getting up there in years.--", and would be only ~ 46 years old today. That teenage pioneer is well placed to see the 2075 centennial happening, when the date for Franz's newer candidate comes to pack in.

  so i suffered through another one of these idiotic "encouraging" talks by tony vives.. he prattled on about loyalty, and pretty well concentrated on three areas.

  loyalty to ones marriage mate, which is no problem.

  if one is married they really do owe loyalty to their husband or wife.. second, he hammered on "loyalty" by having nothing to do with a df'd family member, even a child!

  he failed to mention the many cases where untoward conduct by imaginary alpha males and females in the congregations can test this owed loyalty unnecessarily. Case in point: David, who had Bathsheba picked up by a posse of his men, because he was tired of his other wives perhaps, and it is not recorded that she screamed or tried to fight to her death.

  Loyalty to mates challenged by those that are disloyal to their baptism vows. See the resulting. wt disfellowshipping statistics.

  the first study article is about getting bible studies and children baptized.

  there is much more emphasis placed on parents to get their own children baptized rather than focusing on bible students.

  they try to impress on others the need for urgency.

  This implies the publications are law. They are not, jp1692

  but, nothing shuts up an elder quicker than being shown that his action is out of thep with a given publication, date and page cited. I kept photocopies of juicy items in the front and back covers of my bible. and

  P.S. wt wants you to confine any arguments to their publications, and not verify them indpendantly with the scriptures that everything is supposed to be based on, but isnt.

  far more important than worrying about whether paul's head was hairy or if he was an egg-shell blond, is to be concerned about what went on inside that skull between his ears.. paul was never a christian.

  he was a jew before he became aware of jesus the anointed (christ) and he remained a jew after his confrontation.

  throughout his life paul was a jew living in a gentile world.

  It always seemed strange to me, that the most prolific writer to the congregations, would not be a member of the the "Governing Body", more like a free lance contributor, and now all of them are not even members of the 1919 wt Faithful and Discreet Slave!

  DM: nice critique of that portion of the talking snake collection! seriously.
