or take the recurring wording in this week's wt "study": 4/017 /23. People like Peter, Paul, Elders have "assignments", defined by "privileges" that can be changed, withdrawn, always depending on some undefined higher power, ultimately the Organisation.

Do WT Publications Make Us Feel Unworthy, Unlovable and Helpless?
by jp1692 init is my contention that the wtbts, (as do all high-control, authoritarian cults), deliberately cultivates dysfunctional beliefs among its members.
in particular, the most destructive of these beliefs are those that undermine one's feelings of self-worth.
for a research project i am doing, i am looking for direct quotes from wt publications that seem to be specifically designed to manipulate the readers into feeling: unworthy, unlovable, inadequate and/or helpless.

Nathan Knorr's Cadillac
by snugglebunny inis it true that a group of brothers clubbed together to buy the then president of the watchtower society a cadillac?
apparently so.. back in the early 60's, my father was the po of a london congregation.
he was a frequent visitor to the newly opened bethel in mill hill.

we are talking cars not care. Rutherford with his 2 cadillacs, one on each coast, had 24 more cylinders than Knorr, and both of these men were not firing on all them with the doctrines they endorsed.

“Tree of good and bad” means what?
by venus inif “tree of good and bad” were literal, it would mean adam and eve would know what is “good and bad” only after eating of that tree.
however, even before eating of it, they would think “it is good for us to eat of this tree” which means they are already endowed knowledge of “good and bad.” that means “tree of good and bad” is symbolic of something.. since religious organizations interpret this differently, each reader has to adopt his own conclusion.
for me it looks like this: one thinks of good and bad in relation to himself—if something is beneficial for him he would say it is good for him, and bad for him if it is not beneficial.

You think satan jumped the gun on the other "sons of god" that waited another 1000 plus years to see the light? We thought knowledge of good and bad was only an abstract concept like *partaking" or the evil slave class.

Contrast Jesus and Einstein
by venus injesus did not use his (superhuman) skills to prove the existence of either god or immortality of soul.
further, he did not answer direct, important questions put to him (mathew 21:23-27; luke 22:70 …), and most importantly never defined ego—the root cause of all problems ….
however, einstein, whose business was not spirituality, still defined ego as “optical illusion of consciousness.” this definition helps a lot because when one internalizes the idea that ego is only an illusion, he knows how to effectively deal with it.. .

I thought I dealt with that: Einstein said that God was nowhere to be found when we needed him, even using the name, which "Jesus" eschewed for "father".
afterlife: 'ach was" vs Jesus' resurrection/soul. promise.
Einstein had a good grasp of science, Jesus accepted a flat earth, water covering Everest just 2 millennia before him, the Adam and Eve story, and it's ancestry, chronology
Why did nobody stand up for him? they tried even to kill the resurrected Lazarus to destroy evidence. I guess nobody really trusted their eyes.
When faced with persecution, Einstein left Berlin for the US. Jesus could have followed the 10 tribes of Mormon fame and done the same.
Jesus believed in magic, Einstein rejected "spooky action at a distance".
Jesus claimed access to an interventionist god that would violate the laws of nature, Einstein was a deist.
Jesus believed in the talking snake.

Jws seem to be General Motors people, Rutherford owned 2 Cadillacs. The top branch chap in Canada, P. Chapman a green one.
So what is wrong with Ford's flagship Lincoln? because he did not like the Jewish angle?
ps Knorr was a big man, he could hardly be shoehorned into an Austin, Hillman, Morris or Volkswagen.

Brussels Central station was evacuated Tuesday amid reports of an explosion and at least one man shot who shouted "Allahu Akbar,"
by freemindfade init looks like these attacks in europe are going from weekly, to daily, it literally gives me chills to think about traveling to europe with my family.
that is very unfortunate.

report growth and profitability to the head Borg.
yeah, one CO commented about congregation analysis: : "-- when the contributions are ok, everything else will fall into place.." or words to that effect. Also playing the local pride card.abstaining from voting, but there were ones that worked their guts out, sacrificing family life, at the end wt left them disillusioned.

means: delay your choices and overlap first.
Had Adam & Eve overlapped earlier, we all would not be with the imperfections we suffer. get your priorities right. good and bad knowledge? -- right knowledge
added: mankind missed the perfect overlap; The one generated by wt about the generation? will not bring perfection.

Going "Hollywood" not helping!
by eyeuse2badub ingoing “hollywood” hasn’t seemed to help build any enthusiasm for the wtbts.
think about it, jw’s now have their own studio to make videos and cartoons.
the ‘kingdom’ dirges (songs) have received a makeover to a bit more modern tunes.

Einstein said " Where is the old Jehovah?" ***
Jesus said "... ...... who is in heaven.."
*** A chapter in the book.'Einstein in Berlin' Einstein wrote these words to a friend, asking why "god" would not intervene, as casualties mounted in the French trench warfare. meaning that
Einstein used the name that Jesus never did, as far as we know from the book of bible stories, talking snake & all.
added: Jesus spoke of the resurrection, Einstein: "--ach was!"
Jesus used boats for transport, as a talk platform, Einstein [sail] boated for pleasure. no attempts of walking on water reported.
