  typically, they come from the general area: the circuit or a nearby circuit.

  this was discussed in last week's "kingdom rules" closing part of the mid week meeting.No wonder the Church and provincial government were mad at the witnesses, and trying to drag the rest of canada into the attack . The rank and file bore the brunt of the heat. Great spirit directed work for the "Prince of Peace" ruling since 1914.

  when i finally figured out this was not the truth it was nice to know i wasn't the only one - it was a surprise to learn how many there are.

  february was my last month of service after 43 active years.

  finally left: great activity with which to shake off the wt . In a waltz, the whole world seems to revolve around you *, and not around the org. In the turning, your husband sees you as the center, watching you from all directions too. Do you change partners? or abide by the rule of only dancing with your mate? I hate to see you bedazzled by the likes of the likeable Fred Astaire, probably fleet footed in more than one sense. I always asked release from that constraint to be able to ask the heaviest lady in the room to waltz. why? It made me orbit around her stable bulk, and gave me the illusion of having the Astaire- like mobility, and, since I am partial to small waists (an asset to get a good dancing hold) from straying feelings, ah, memories of the time of youth*. hope you will have pleasant recollections of your journey, have a ball.

  Asking a Jew about the Name "Jehovah"

  jehovah's witnesses...that's the trademark of the religion, the use of the name "jehovah.

  " if there is anything jws and non-jws can agree on is that this one thing sets them apart from everybody else.. i have only had witnesses come to my door less than five times since i left in the 1990s.

  i guess they don't work the territory i live in often, or perhaps after that first time (which was still after the year 2000) they have marked the words "jew who knows a lot" or something in their notes on my address.

  The story of "jesus" seems to fit this meandering saga, because there, he is recorded as never having uttered the 'name' in his personal talks with the deity, although according to the nwt, he even quoted " Jehovah" in his rebuttal of "satan's" temptations., calling "Jehovah" satan's god!

  i always felt bad for asking questions , did anyone else ?

  what question did you ask or want to ask but feel it was wrong ?

  mine was regarding the circuit assembly and the amount defecit anounced .. also 1975 i got a stern reply too when i was studying in the 90,s.

  public questions? particularly by jw ladies? not even in apostolic times. 1 Cor.14:35 : "... let them question their husbands at home..." but

  Paul had a point: 35: " If they want to learn something... ask questions.

  Do trained animals ever ask questions? but they perform, bring in the crowds, the money.

  very good question for everyone, there is no great crowd numbered more accurately than the wt crowd***, down to the 15 minutes of the old and infirm.

  Crossing the Elders

  few things draw my interest as much as people on this board who talk about the elders, the insidious little toadies who lurk around kingdom halls, the proverbial big fish in little ponds.

  it amazes me the terror and the veneration they inspire, as well as the occasional ridicule.

  it makes me wonder how they're selected and whether most of them come into the position with a sense of power, entitlement, authority and control, or whether many of them are pretty nice people and that i'm just hearing about the bad apples?

  just sat through the weekly video on pride. and it is about a fictional brother that is alienating himself from the congregation by his critical attitude ( Beam in his eye, compared to the splinter in his targets) [targets supposedly the elders].

  well, typical wt strohman argument. how about the arrogance of the elders, compounded by their " we are united and never do wrong" attitude?
