well it is tenuous, but on topic! why would the anti-idolatry god use a snake idol to cure viper bites, as through magic, weird action at a distance as Einstein would say?

"The Name" is supposed to mean he can become to be whatever he wants to become, and it seems to be becoming that he commissions out the dirty works to underlings, the whole satarn the debble thing seems to just deceiver even putting on a [bible ] drama to convince, who copied that?
the wt articles for the past 2 weeks were the typical every-3-months-or-so attempt at justifying the sovereignty of the jw popes, the governing body.. aside from the usual specious reasoning and ridiculous assertions, i noted this:.
the articles went through great semantic pains to emphasize that, for the jws, jesus is "the leader", while the gb are merely "those taking the lead".. what, exactly, is the difference between a "leader" vs. "one who is taking the lead"?.
in what other sphere of human experience is such semantic pretzel logic even close to rational?.
Surely the pivotal word is 'taking'
F: nowhere is this ruthless but often subtle craving and seizing of control more apparent the in WT land. Out of a pool of untrained or uncertified candidates, the winners emerge, and the losers of those struggles are the obedient sheep.
Control, the lead has been taken; take it or leave it.

Actually in the "science copies creation" series of the WT/ Awake, there should have been an article how the makers of heartburn, antacid remedies, copied the means God must have used to change the chemistry of the fishy guts into an oxygen producing benign environment.
There was a story about an Oregon man who got fined for suggesting a change in the timing of traffic lights. he was fined for taking the lead, in doing engineering without a [ local] license.

good illustration Simon, but wt has it's [spirit appointed] commanders, if you try to take the lead, while you think there is a lapse in their command (like their grasp of scriptures)' the appointed leaders will try you for treason.
the congregation i attend had it's watchtower study on thursday night because of l.d.c work this week-end, and another congregation i have some not very spiritual friends in had their watchtower study on wednesday.
from what i have delicately prised out of people, the congregations loved the watchtower study this week, saying it was so encouraging and all the usual stuff, with no-one seeming to realise the g.b.
said they're not inspired, so the spirit int he past has moved them to teach wrong things, and all the other ideas excellently summed up on reddit.. today's watchtower will wash over the heads of most j.w's like it never even happened, the all remaining as loyal as ever, and it makes me so, so sad..
and he skips over the entire first half of the paragraph. He didn't say anything about the GB being infallible. He spent like 30 seconds on the paragraph
This the shame, hypocrisy of the wt leadership. GB, Zone, branch. hiding even the watered down version of the truth. If you did not know about Paragraph 12, you would never know it even existed, from that talk. Zone approved. A dutch treat.
it appears that the governing body members today are part of the great crowd and are not of the anointed.. to those with some knowledge of the subject, is it possible that the christian congregation would eventually be lead by those who are not anointed?

jb, proof of that still has to be delivered, but the wt fallacies are here right now, poof that wt writings are scripturally wrong,

The current GB members are all part of the "third generation" -wrong. not that good.
It is 25 years that F. Franz died, admittedly not the oldest anointed to do so. A zealot like him, living then, baptized & anointed at 17, would be 42 years old now. part of the second group. At age 100, she would die in 2075 , yes she, because
it is overlapping partakers not GB part takers at conventions that make up the generation.
the second group is in full swing. A third group would give us 2125, not bad either, .
oh so it's jesus fault the spiritual food hasn't been perfect!
we your governing body are just responsible for serving it!
think about this people, they are saying it was jesus who told us the end was going to come in 1975. then before the 1914 generation passed away no later than the 1990's.
J.F. Rutherford changed this in 1927to apply only to the members of the "new creation," the anointed. "Some members of the new creation will be on the earth at the time of Armageddon." (W27, 2/15, p 62)
Then in 2008, we were told: "As a class, these anointed ones make up the modern-day 'generation' of contemporaries that will not pass away 'until all these things occur.'" (W08, 2/15, p 23-25)
AM: consider this:
Armageddon, the GT is part of "all these things."
Wt did not return to the w27 teaching. they hold now that the New Creation, the Anointed Generation, will die before the Great Tribulation, Armageddon.
Contradicting Jesus, who's whole point of timing was, that the generation would survive "all these things", the End.
