  Earthquake in Victoria Australia

  i ,along with many other victorians in australia,experienced my first earthquake this morning about 9:15 am.. it was recorded as a 5.9 magnitude.and an after shock of 4.0 magnitude.. i was having a lay in bed due to the fact my wife had a bad night due to her health problems which affected my sleep as well.. and i thought geeeze she`s making a lot of racket coming up the passage to the bedroom with her walker and then the bed started shaking like crazy .

  i thought my computer`s going to hit the deck along with the printer as other things started to fall over.. our house sits on concrete stumps and the thought went through me that the house could collapse ,but thankfully there was no structural damage that i could find.. apparently it was felt far and wide covering most of victoria / nsw and even tasmania.. anybody else here had a similar experience ?.

  metal earthquake straps that were poured into the concrete and attached to the frame of the house.

  PZ: another strategy is to build a strong house and insulate it from the shaking earth by having it float on anti friction pads. many houses were left intact by the quake in Japan, only to be carried out to see in one piece.

  metal straps are great on all joints in a wooden house. wood splits and nails pull out.

  a good way to be save afterward is to have a camping vehicle stocked with goodies at the ready, it is already on roller bearings.

  1995 generation change

  now, many years later, i remember the 1995 generation change, very well.. since early youth, hearing my father explaining in field service the 2520 years.

  it was his main theme in the field.. with the change my doubts started.

  with some jw friends we did not trust the organization anymore.

  we restarted from deepest poverty, after special pioneering, after the "superior authority" reboot.

  wt had been 100% wrong. and we taught it to unsuspecting innocents.

  the wt 1914 generation fiasko is worse, 200% wrong.

  it can not extend 160 years to 2075 or never end, and

  it can not be the anointed, they will pass away, according to wt, before Armageddon, not after.

  Do JWs buy old JW books to destroy?

  i have never heard of this but i doubt its never been done.

  i sell some older jw books on etsy and have always been a bit afraid that some jws are buying them to destroy.

  if you have heard of this let me know.

  It will require airfare to visit

  GT. if you have a month summer vacation, as most great teachers have, take a camper or a van across the land. great sights and sites to see, Niagara, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, the Redwoods.

  Even Yosemite has some respectable walk-in with sky light Sequoias (a highlight of my life with my then 9 year old daughter standing inside a thousand year old living giant) beats Jonah et al.

  skip the fake shows, disney and the rollercoasters and drive . it is better to travel than to arrive.

  when will canada do the same, on it's west coast and brazil in the amazon?

  logging and mineral/oil/gas extracting rights might not be controlled by the ownership. These licenses are inside jobs between politicians and their relatives/friends./ contributors. YOU WOULD HAVE TO BUY THE POLITICIANS WHO ARE ALREADY OWNED.

  I understand the "owners" are a tribe, with elder's opinion split between those that want the payout and others that see the trees as heritage.

  If you have seen the Sequoias, and seen the vast devastation scenes after the loggers are done, you would approve the protest, the army protection too I hope, hoser.

  afterthought: plants big and small make life possible for us.

  The forest service wants to protect this old Sherman tree for money.

  h: of course they are paid. but the US cavalry that fought off the loggers, did so on orders by far sighted, altruistic officials.

  The last giant trees of Canada ( always 10% in size of the US in every way) deserve the same protection. These trees are symbols of our hope for a long life; for life on this planet - period. they are the ultimate evolutionary survivors, producing the best offspring, with the thickest light bark, engineered like shuttle tiles.

  It take millenia to create trees like that, minutes to kill, with modern equipment. gone forever.

  Google Port Renfrew, looks like great surfing, black sky astronomy too. so:

  identify your precious heritage in canada and post the army. name them "Methuselah tree" as they do in the US for the real old one.

  retrain your loggers as computer programmers.

  biden ordered the ffa to stop all cameras from taking pictures or recording this mess.. the doj is fighting to allow millions of immigrants into the country with covid.

  all immigrants don't have to take the vaccine or be tested.. terrorists from countries that hate america are entering the country.. guns are disappearing from the local stores, everyone is buying them out.

  I’m not sure about you waton,

  Hoser, neither am I, My family has a recent immigrant history, waiting years in line to come legally, doing work in designated industries. In the US, it would take me decades to get an immigration visa with the legal quota of my birth nationality. .

  We have a long history of total integration, not the multi-culti- tribal ghettoization, what we see today.

  What many are objecting to, is the illegal immigration industry, with the abuse of laws that were designed to deal with honest people, and crying out loud cases, such as the attempt of the Jewish people to escape Europe's slaughters.
