regarding what some have said here about the wt being a false prophet.. i would like to make my point regarding the wt not being a false prophet... so please, if you can be patient enough to read this, at least try to understand what i am getting at.. a false prophet is one who, according to deuteronomy, makes a false prediction of the future and claims that the prediction came from god, or in other words claiming that 'god has said he will do a certain thing at a certain time' etc.. for example, hypothetically speaking, if someone had claimed: "god will bring about the end of the world in 2010", they would have been proven to be a false prophet, obviously.

but, as an example, imagine a man who claimed the position of a prophet of god, (as moses did, because although he was not the type of prophet that predicted the future.. he was still a prophet or spokesman for god) and that he had publicised worldwide, according to his interpretation of a (for example) prophecy found in the book of isaiah, that the world would end in 2010.. and he had also stated that he was not saying that god will end the world in that year.. but only that there was biblical evidence that god might do so.

that would clearly have been a mistake.

and it is not just about predictions. prophets might maintain to speak for god ! period!, or expound about current realities.

during the 1920 ies, 30, 40 50, wt removed The Father and Son from their supreme position, and classed them only as the superior authorities, whos' identity through context and by "false religions" was identified as the governments and agents, from the dog catcher to the likes of Hitler.

that is one for the records, false spokesmen, "let god be true". not. --- so,

let the past be the past, yeah, but

in reality, the future course is calculated , determined by past positions, and it is the future that counts. scary prospects for wt and it's followers. feel sorry for them.

and dont forget the 4 hrs per month per parent per child, and the 15 minutes per month for seniors. it all ends up, adds up to 10 minutes of "service time" for every human on the planet per year.

Prophecy can be understood and properly interpreted after its fulfilment, or when in course of fulfilment.

DJW; even when wrongly assigning the details of a so-called "second fulfillment" of a bible prophecy, wt sets itself up to be a false prophet, before the date even arrives. take

The generation of Math 24:34, that, printed red in the NIV, says: " in truth--, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened--", these things including, @ 21, the " -- distress unequalled from the beginning of the world until now--" that is to say, including Noah's flood. Only wt's Armageddon would fit Jesus' description.

With their anointed generation, and heavenly resurrection since 1918, wt makes that an ongoing prophecy, and they predict that the "anointed" will all have passed away to heaven by the beginning of the "great distress"

Wt is here directly contradicting Jesus. and

the laughable overlapping of the anointed is an ongoing prophecy too, could last them to 2075.

It takes courage to defend such teachings, and it's originators. Courage, is that not their current assembly theme?

20 Years Occupying Afghanistan, Nothing Achieved

so the occupation of afghanistan is coming to an end and, as predicted, they achieved absolutely nothing in that 20 years apart from:.

the death of 2,300+ service personnel and tens of thousands more seriously maimed or injured.. handing $billions or even $trillions of taxpayer dollars to defence contractors (so the military industrial complex wins, even if the military doesn't have a clear victory).. has this lengthy but short-term military occupation really changed anything in the country?

it doesn't appear so.. i said at the time that the us wouldn't have the staying power to enact real change.

The right to not be exposed to ideas I don’t like or agree with?

ok, i would like to submit to the forum the following question: in abstract, do you think that there is a right to not being exposed to ideas that you don’t like or disagree with?

please think it through and its implications on both ends of the spectrum.. it’s not the right to conscientious objection to do something you vehemently disagree with; it’s not about the liberty to chose which ideas you want to embrace or advocate.

it’s something different.. given that, as exjws, we understand the importance of being exposed to different opinions in order to form our own opinion, should someone claim the right not to be exposed to opinions or ideas that they don’t like?

If you could pick out critical errors to the JWS religion what would it be ?

many that have come to this forum have left the jws religion and moved on with their lives but from a outsider's viewpoint what do think makes the jws religion wrong or incorrect as a active christian faith ?.

somethings come to mind such as its long continuous end times/armageddon soon doctrine which has really been a core doctrine for decades going right back to its beginning .. maybe they should have adopted the stance as other christian based faiths and adhered to jesus's own words when he said " no one knows of the time not even he ".

Ds: right ! in the french, col like parcel, porteur, as in carrier. sounds fancier, than delivery person.

There was an old photograph published by wt lately, that showed a lady pushing a bike, converted to carry books in the middle of the frame, with the caption that she was delivering the literature that had been previously ordered.

To think that wt classes this activity as "Doing good to the brothers of Christ", as per final judgement of the goats and ~~other~~ sheep.

EO, that is a new one to me, the body talking to his spirit as it leaves him, to go to heaven 40 days later. Lingering to have a body again, or the same stored somewhere.

Glad we did not have that sophistication at the doors when we did battle.
