I have no intention of joining any religion ever again.
However, as an atheist, I do kind of enjoy looking at things religious people say and do that make me *facepalm*.
personally, i respect that everyone has choices to believe whatever they want to believe.
i have no interest in joining another religion....what about you?.

last friday i got a message on my classmates account from alice, a jw girl i hadn't seen in over 40 years.
i checked her profile and in her current photo she is wearing a native american necklace and earrings with tribal or religious symbols.
Yes, I posted about it here: Have you ever tried to re-connect with old JW friends? How did it go?
It wasn't pretty.
this is horrible.
train derailment happened in lac-megantic, quebec.
officials expect the death toll to increase.
Current news reports places the death toll at 13 with another 37 people unaccounted for.
since the anointed class used to be the faithful and discreet slave, i wondered if and how they can be disciplined through being disfellowshiped?
aren't they given a little more latitude in how they interpret scriptures and in what they say?
do people in kingdom halls who have anointed members defer to them in any way?
The way it is explained, a person who is of the Anointed™ just knows that they are one of the Anointed™.
It's said that when someone of the Anointed™ reads the Bible™ it is as if it was a letter written to them by God.
Now, having said that, the WTS has made it abundantly clear that the number of 144,000 Anointed Ones™ was pretty much used up by the 1930s. They have allowed that there may be some individuals whose status was revoked due to Apostasy™ or some other Unforgiveable Sin™, and those few individuals would need to be replaced. However, there have been some who have claimed to be of the Anointed™ (I know of two personally) late into the 20th century, and the Congregation™ and the Elders™ generally go along with the claim provided the person doesn't make a big deal of their status.
To answer your question, they can be Disfellowshipped™. In fact both of the people I knew who claimed to be of the Anointed™ ended up being DFd.
hello, first let me apologixe for both my spelling and my grammer in advance, both are not my strong points.. i'll keep this short.
since i've been a child my mother has studied on and off with jw's ( i'm now 34) so i've been around it most of my life, i studied on and off myself for around 10 years.
thank's to this site and jwfacts i'll never study or step foot inside a kingdom hall again.
That was a terrific letter.
I'm curious as to how he'll respond. You know they can't stand it when you tell them there's a line that you don't want them to cross.
we all know that the doctrine and dogma of the wts is completely false, so i'm not even going to include topics like "trinity" or "gehenna" or anything like that in my personal list.. but i'd like to see what other people list as their top five most harmful jw teachings.. #5. females in the congregation are inferior to males.. #4. you must override your personal conscience in favour of wts rules, even when you know it's wrong.. #3. shunning disfellowshippedtm and disassociatedtm individuals, without being allowed to form your own opinion or hear their side of the story, even when it is a family member or close friend, this teaching destroys families and results in far too many people taking their own lives from the agony of being rejected by the only people they have ever had relationships with.. #2. forsaking higher education, well-paid employment and planning for retirement.. #1. the no-blood rule has cost more lives since it was first introduced by rutherford than jonestown, 10 times over..

Hi Simon,
I know your to-do list is quite long, but I'm having trouble looking up posting histories - I get an error message when I try to look for threads that have been started, and posting history of other members.
a religious person carries with them a concern (reasonably should be concerned) that non-believers do not share.. for the religious believer there is a very real dimension of beings who are actively invasive in human affairs.. these beings are angels, demons, jinns, gods, spirits, ghosts---you name it--scrutinizing our every move, reading our minds (some say) and.
greatly aroused by women in a sexual way!.
indeed, the scriptures do not blush to inform us that angels lusted after women in times past and impregnated them successfully!.
Terry:
I'm not sure anybody has yet addressed the aspect of being WATCHED surreptitiously!
That was extremely creepy, especially as a young naïve bride, when the old married / widowed biddies at the Kingdom Hall™ made a point of reminding me that Jehovah, Jesus and all the angels and the resurrected Anointed Ones™ would know if we strayed beyond what The Society™ had deemed appropriate for married couples.
Imagine what that does to your sex life, to believe that your most intimate activities are scrutinized by a host of invisible Peeping Toms!!
over the course of decades as a jw, an elder, a bethelite, then learning ttatt and wanting to leave, i'd collected a lot of insight into the power of "confidentiality.
" although the confidentiality in a judicial hearing is supposedly to protect the sinner, in actuality, i saw that it was about control and was protecting the power of the jc.. i didn't use any of this knowledge until i was called before the boe because the other elders figured they had grounds to remove me as an elder.
it was a work situation that only lasted a matter of hours, but it was enough that they seized the moment.
Billy
I'm sorry you had to go through all that BS with the BoE, but glad you were able to turn the situation to your advantage.
I wonder what they would have said, had you asked them why they hadn't told the ratfinks Brothers™ who reported to them to apply Jesus' counsel to speak to you about their complaints themselves (Matthew 18:15-17) before squealing going to the BoE?
I've found that whenever gossip about me gets back to me and I trace it back to the source and ask them why they didn't apply that scripture instead of starting malicious rumors about me, invariably I'll get an apology and an opportunity to clarify whatever situation they claim to know more about than they do. And I absolutely LOVE it when I get to tell them "really it's none of your concern" by referring them to the passage at 1Pet 4:15 "Let none of your suffer as a ... busybody in other people's matters".

I'm also resurrecting things too. Like Jebus but with less water-walking and water-winery happening.
What!!?? No wine!! Appalling.. just appalling.
