Brilliant @dubstepped. Well expressed. Very similar to my own thought process when I left and discovered my own atheism....

A couple fo us here in Australia have made formal requests to access our data under Australia privacy laws (which are quite similar to what is happening in Europe if not exactly the same) and also the Society's data protection policy as stated on their website.
Please join us and put pressure on them to act lawfully under these new laws as they claim they will.

Another marriage bites the dust ...
by EdenOne in... and this time it was mine.. mrs. eden decided to part ways and leave home, and so our 25 year long partnership is now dissolving.
.
just another colateral damage in a long list of colateral damages from being raised in the "truth".

Armageddon started...
by mikeflood injust joking i really don't think so...but the situation in syria is pretty worrisome...just hearing the news that france and great britain are attacking with cruise missiles in 72 hours.
i mean assad is not gonna gasify his adversaries when he almost won the civil war.
trump too suspended a very important trip to the latinoamerican presidents summit in peru, just to 'oversee the american response to syria.

Except thats not at all how its supposed to go down! First there is supposed to be the destruction of Babylon the Great starting the great tribulation, then the cry of Peace and security, then the imminent attack on God's people - only then can Armageddon actually start! And somewhere in between all that there is the rapture of the remaining anointed to heaven!!!
JW's who believe that armageddon could start any day don't even understand their own doctrine.

You Know You're in the Wrong Religion When....
by Vanderhoven7 injust thought a review the following material many have contributed to might be helpful .
you know you are in the wrong religion:1. when the all important question is not: "do you believe in the lord jesus christ?"....but....
"do you believe in the "faithful and discreet slave" appointed in 1919?"2.

Great list, but there is another, even simpler, one:
You know you're in the wrong religion when....
1. You're in one!

PORTUGAL: In-depth news investigation about Jehovah's Witnesses and shunning
by EdenOne in"observador" the leading online daily newspaper in portugal, published today an in-depth investigation about the practice of shunning by the jehovah's witnesses.. starting with the ongoing petition that i have submitted to collect signatures, the investigative reporter tânia pereirinha details how the branch is organized, who is who in the local branch office, the history of the organization, the pedophilia scandals, interviews lawmakers and the person responsible for the overseeing of the law of religious freedom, and the focuses on four life stories of people who were shunned.
one of those stories is of our very own tj curioso, who posts in this forum.. https://observador.pt/especiais/eles-mataram-me-em-vida-o-inferno-nas-testemunhas-de-jeova/.
"they killed me while i was still living - the hell of jehovah's witnesses" is the name of the article.

Restorationist values? All he seems to be doing is exactly what Russell tried to do in the 1800's. We all know how that turned out. I don't see his ideas turning out any better.

Thanks for the post, but sorry I need to offer an alternative view - I only got 2 mins in and already disagree with 3 of his initial broad premises:
1. Our time can be compared to the first 3 centuries of Christianity.
2. Back then they only used persuasion, not coercion.
3. People today are more than ever looking for authenticity.
I find his summation of religious history to make his point very shallow and superficial, not really any better than what the Society does. I'll keep listening to see if he reaches a good conclusion but its not a good start!
