  Did you hear who is invited to the international convention.

  So on and So on.

  There is also zero biblical discussion.

  Lots of Alice in Chains. I never get tired of them. Especially love the new stuff with the new singer. They are not even close to being a Casino / State fair act.

  I have also being listening to lots of 70s KISS lately. ( Strutter, Deuce, Detroit Rock City etc ). I am not old enough to remember them in there hayday but man they are like a dazed and confused time machine for me. 76-81. My aunts and uncles were all about high school age in there prime.

  I also gave some old pubic enemy CDs a spin on youtube the other day. That was my high school. So awesome, even for a white kid in the prairies of Canada.

  why is it that born-in jw children/teens who are not unbaptized publishers allowed to participate in the preaching work, but new people can't?

  I still laugh when people call it work. Trying to hand out literature to people who don't want it so you can hand in a time card so your family doesn't stop talking to you.

  Never knew missing meetings was such a big deal

  i do bible study and attend meetings.

  ”well i was away and i was going to attend in that city”.

  i did everything right, i told my bible study conductors in advance and genuinely i wanted to see another hall.

  I was in a foreign country a few months ago with my wife and her uber pioneer friend and she made a huge fuss about missing a meeting. Funny thing she didn't even speak the language. I told her maybe she could just read a few chapters of bible instead that evening because we aren't going back to the city for your stupid meeting. Funny thing is she didn't even have a bible with her.

  It was a real eye opener how pointless meeting attendance was.

  my wife has a friend ( male ) with a six month old baby who just decided to be unemployed and had a fairly good paying job.

  without giving up too much information it seems quite weird.

  the reason i ask is because i have been in meetings and assemblies and some of the advice they like to give doesn't seem very intelligence about being a productive member of society.

  Any ideas about what the ‘special’ talk is on Memorial Day?

  the family are very excited because there’s a special interruption happening this friday which has supposedly only happened once before when rutherford announced jesus’ ruling in heaven.
