  i am a long time lurker who has finally decided to post.

  Viv Moritz? Australian experience?

  can anybody here from australia fill me in on this guy?

  i did the search thing and the only thing i could find seemed to imply that he had been shipped off here to poland to avoid problems there.

  i talked to him at a ca in warsaw and he seemed kind of 'off'... it also seemed to me that he had lots of 'handlers'.

  I have found that if I just give my wife a heads-up early enough in the week, she will usually have other plans that night. I think they could just save everyone some time and get more participation (WT style - read and repeat) if they just provided the answer sheet in the same KM.

  Distrust and paranoia among faders

  hi guys.

  i'm interested in knowing whether any other faders out there ever find themselves feeling a little paranoid about establishing contact with other faders or former jws, just in case the unthinkable happens and things turn sour.. personally, i'm now fairly comfortable with the idea that i will be disfellowshipped or disassociated within the next year or so.

  i see it as inevitable, and an essential transition in order to do what i want to do with my life.

  Not to hijack the thread, but this whole discussion about the art of fading, reminded me of the conversation I had recently with my mother.

  When I told her I wasn't going to meetings anymore or going out in service (I am the only witness in my family) she was extremely happy and curious. When I started blabbing on about fading, etc, she got really confused. Can't you just say, 'thanks, but no thanks. I'm just not into it anymore?'. I didn't want to get into the whole cult-thing at the time, but it really made an impression on me that as others here often say: it is a cult (or if you prefer, a HCG).

  just thought i would point out another religion that shares many of the jws' teachings, including non-trinitarianism and emphasis on god's name: http://www.yrm.org/yrm_statement_of%20belief.htm.

  interestingly, they lean even further towards preserving the jewish covenant than witnesses do.

  i didn't know it was possible to lean this far while still believing in jesus!

  That looks pretty hard-core. Kind of like JW's melded with Taliban. Anytime I see 2Tim3:16 cited as 'proof' I cringe...

  Why do they say: Brother is no longer JW VS Brother is disfellowshipped?

  So: "If he joins a non-neutral organization, he has disassociated himself".

  He or I can't join the YMCA to use the pool, but 'THEY' can join the UN as an NGO? What constitutes non-neutral in their eyes?

  Weird "new world" artwork from the 2013 calendar

  my mother-in-law has a strange obsession with calendars, and orders the society's calendar each year.

  this year's calendar is especially weird.

  it features images depicting future events - in particular, the society's vision of the new world order.. i've taken the opportunity to scan some of the images for you all to check out.. please note - there are captions for each of the images, but i don't have the english language version of the calendar so i'd rather just quote the scripture used so as not to reveal which country i'm in.. .

  If I was fat and ugly when I died before the big A, does this mean I will come back as a hunk? How would anyone recognize me? I guess I will get an approved haircut style too on the way back and some nice threads... What's not to like?

  All I can say is wow! The wife just hung it up (next to her bed). I'm sure each pic will be worthy of its own discussion thread. At least i didn't see any ties...

  As far as Jan/Feb - that grin on Jesus is pretty disturbing.
