I would not expect the loss of charitable tax status any time soon. There would be appeals, a legal process etc. etc. The WTS is a master at spinning those things out. Also, look what happened in France - they got all their tax back... -

New WTS end date - 2034?
by campaign of hate inso i already made an introductory thread where i said hello and mentioned my feelings toward 2034 being the wts new end date.. we get the year 2034 from matt 24:37 & luke 17:26. the wt commented on the "days of noah" in a qfr article 2010 12/15.
where its stated: "it is logical, therefore, to conclude that genesis 6:3 expresses gods resolve to end the corrupt system of things on earth.
jehovah issued a judicial decree to do so in 120 years, though noah was not yet aware of that.

I've never heard 120 years mentioned from the platform in relation to the last days. I am not saying that the thought has not crossed individuals' minds nor that the perpetuation of thoughts about this would not suit the WTS but I simply reiterate what I said earlier:
1 - the last time I can see anything in writing about this was 2010
2 - at the time they were at pains to stress Noah preached maybe only 40-50 years
3 - no association with the last days was made
4 - this is not a topic of conversation I have ever come across and I do my fair share of "seeding" of conversations to see what people are prepared to say
5 - it may escalate as a thought over the coming years as people latch onto something to explain failed expectations but I do not expect any official sanction through RC talks or WT articles
Right now, as far as I can tell, the only people buzzing about this thought are on boards like this.

Their delusion run-ith over in today WT study rag mag.
by Crazyguy ini noticed that in paragraph 13 they mention the girl sheryl that i believe was the same girl that was in their video about the typhoon that hit the philippines back in 2013. they talk as if she's so happy and thankful to jehovah even mention that she lost most of her family in that typhoon.
what they don't mention was her family members that were killed in that typhoon were inside a kh thinking they were going to be protected by jehovah since they were in gods house and his people and all.
they also fail to mention that the government authorities were telling people to get out of town but the elders were most likely telling the people in their congregations to stick around and just come to the hall.

Cedars did a good article on this bearing in mind the relative lack of information. It's worth a re-read
http://jwsurvey.org/cedars-blog/why-the-governing-body-owes-an-explanation-for-what-happened-in-the-philippines
I'd forgotten much of this and the question of why Witnesses had not evacuated to somewhere outside of the critical danger zone is one I suspect we will never get the true answer to.

The Days if Noah - Is this the new unofficial generation?
by cofty inedit - "the days of noah" damn!.
long story short - i need to go to bed!
i was in edinburgh today with my wife (football, coffee, walks, food, cinema) and i always try to take 10 minutes to have a chat with the jws on the trolley in the "big city".. i challenged an older guy who turned out to be an pioneer about the generation.

I've not heard anyone suggest anything about the generation of Noah and 120 years but that does not mean it has not crossed peoples' minds. Bear in mind however that the last QfR regarding this subject tended to downplay the significance of the time period and suggest that Noah only knew about the Flood 40-50 years before it occurred.

Of course, that is not to say there is not an advantage to the WTS if this thinking does gain popular traction through rumour and osmosis. As someone said above, it takes the heat off the WTS whilst giving them plausible deniability that they never actually suggested a link.
BTW - when I say "before it occurred" I just mean in the words of the WTS, not that that it actually occurred.

Philip Rose. Utter weasel. I don't hate many people but he is right up there on my list of Brian Cants.
John Stanbridge. Odd but pretty harmless.
Tony Tavener. Genuine and humble man.
Mike Seidler. Greasy pole artist.
Colin Conradie. Top bloke.
Richard Cullen. Loved by the congregation but hated by the elders for being two faced.
David Carter - Loves the sound of his own voice and wished he had been Tommy Cooper.
David Algar - Entertaining but as my I grew ever more cynical about the whole thing I just found him increasingly pompous.
Peter Morgan - Nice bloke overall.
Dave Rastell - Quite liked him really 'cos he stood up for me when my elders were being plonkers. -

New Marriage Arrangement Rumor?
by Thoughtless inso, i haven't lurked here in a long while however, i have been checking up more frequently and i saw that there is a rumor going around about getting barred from marriage if the brother not appointed by the time he is 23. is that true?
if it is, i am so screwed haha.
proud fader present within college.

There is no rule regarding this. AM intimated that a "wise" sister might want to question the spiritual goals of a brother if he was not appointed as a MS by 23 but that's a way off any kind of ban. Sure there might be a handful that treat it like a rule but it's not going to affect the vast majority. -

A Question for Underground Apostates, How Many Are There?
by Village Idiot inwhen i first came to this forum i was of the belief that those of us who were still in due to family reasons were few in numbers perhaps one in a thousand in the jws.
soon i came to the realization that there were many more.

Still living the lie. Mentally out since the second half of 2012 but struggling to make a full break as I cannot convince my wife on TTATT. I do not want to get DF/DA'ed as that would strain the wider family ties too much.
I wish I knew some other closet apostates locally that I could share thoughts with. I've met up with a couple of people from here which has been great.
