Major Doctrinal Changes Must Be On The Way
by notsurewheretogo inthe statement in the article "who is leading gods people today?
" in the feb 17th study edition of the wt is very interesting.. it states: ""the g.b.
is neither inspired nor infallible" ..we can err .in doctrinal matters....".

The statement by the GB stinks. I smell a red herring in the first part of the second sentence (in bold) coupled with a deflection technique.
The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. In fact, the Watch Tower Publications Index includes the heading “Beliefs Clarified,” which lists adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870.
I believe the real subject is a yet unknown or unpublished failure in relation to organizational direction. This is what the statement could really be about:
The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in . . . organizational direction.
The GB have never cared about changing doctrinal beliefs, nor in the flip-flops of Watchtower teachings. They do care about money and this has been evident the past year or so in their cutbacks in printing, grab for cash, selling of assets, seizing of kingdom halls, begging for donations, downsizing, and various money raising schemes.
This recent statement, if indeed about doctrinal errors, is serious enough to have warranted discussion at last month's Annual General Meeting but was not mentioned.
Something has changed in the past few weeks that the GB may have been hoping they could get away with or keep hidden, possibly to do with organizational directions they have given to the Watchtower corporations.
The February 2017 Watchtower statement, highlighted above, is also out of context with the paragraph, the subheading and the entire study article. It appears more like an afterthought designed to prepare for a future organizational direction failure of such a scale that the GB have no control over.
It is strange that the GB would allow organizational failures of the Watchtower to be placed at their feet and not at the feet of the recently reshuffled Watchtower board of directors. Let the finger pointing and blame shifting begin.

So the Elders want to get together, and I kinda want to.
by Darkknight757 inso the wife and i were uninvited to another jw get together which we didn't want to go to anyways.
finally we find out that something on my facebook account is getting some people's in my old halls undies in a bunch.
so i was thinking of meeting with them to at least clear my wife's name and give them some much needed hell.

Darkknight757 - Then turn the tables. Follow my suggestion and give a copy of the letter, or postcard, to your family as well. Don't turn up to any meetings with the elders and have nothing to do with them. If they d'fed you in absentee then later reveal to your family where you got the quote from and give them the choice whether to completely shun you for sharing a quote from the latest Watchtower. You will always have a story on why you were d'fed.
The two above suggested quotes from the one Watchtower article can be reversed if it makes more sense. Remember, some elders have already made up their mind and are only looking for a pretext. Imagine the shock when they eventually read the Watchtower magazine and realize what they did. They cannot claim the d'fed of you and your wife by the boe was inspired or infalluble if even their beloved gb are not. Cheers.

i really hate all these "what if" posts
by nowwhat? inall these hypothetical questions about the organization's demise or what if god did this or that don't do anyone any good.
personal experiences.
info and insight about your congregation, circuit, area and the watchtower itself is what we need.

Send them a short two sentence letter with the following quote written in it without referencing the source:
The Governing Body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction.
from the February 2017 watchtower.
If you want to write more or throw in a red herring quote from a previous paragraph first which talks about CT Russell who was not a member of the GB or FDS. The elders won't know what to say or do, but maybe put you on trial for apostasy:
In the late 19th century, Charles Taze Russell and some of his associates endeavored to reestablish true Christian worship. To help them disseminate Bible truth in various languages, Zion’s Watch Tower Tract Society was legally incorporated in 1884, with Brother Russell as president. He was an outstanding student of the Bible, and he fearlessly exposed as false such doctrines as the Trinity and the immortality of the soul. He discerned that Christ would return invisibly and that “the appointed times of the nations” would end in 1914. Brother Russell devoted his time, energy, and money unsparingly to share these truths with others. Clearly, at that pivotal time, Brother Russell was used by Jehovah and the head of the congregation.
The Governing Body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction.

Watch Tower Farms ?
by Lostandfound inmay have missed this somewhere, but if bethel not providing meals anymore , what is point of the farms?.
or are meals still provided with simple self service now, without the waiter service of decades?.
seem to recall uk farm disposed of years ago as it cheaper to purchase requirements rather than sustain farm and its workers, was that the case?.

All Watchtower really needs each day is five loaves of bread and two fishes. This is enough to feed 5000 people. The governing body says the prayer, breaks bread, and partakes of the meal. The crumbs are then put into baskets to feed the multitude.

A Jehovah's Witness would be disfellowshipped for uttering this statement to a body of elders during a judicial committee:
Body of Elders: "Do you believe the faithful and discreet slave are God's representatives on Earth?"
Reply: "The Governing Body is neither inspired, nor infallible, therefore it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction ."
Body of Elders: "The decision of the body of elders is to recommend that you be dissfelowshipped for apostasy."

You might find the following Watchtower website selling construction equipment, tools, buses, fleet of 46 Mercedes, and building material of interest:
http://used-tools-equipment.com
Current inventory includes 5,258 unique items and 28,280 tools.
Kingdom Support Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit religious corporation that administers to the needs of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the United States. The purpose of this website is to sell construction equipment, tools, and materials that were purchased for and used in the recent construction of the World Headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses. This is in harmony with the spirit of Jesus’ words at John 6:12, “so that nothing is wasted.”
