Jupiter protects the earth... another example of intellectual dishonesty and an argument against design
by cognisonance ini'm taking a university astronomy course, and i must say it's really fun to read about this field.
anyway, i remember the jws used to use jupiter (and probably still do) as an example for how unique and special our solar system is (and thus designed) -- namely, that jupiter protects the earth from astroids, comets, and meteors.
convincing if one doesn't know any better, especially circa 1994 when jupiter stepped in front of a comet for us... but this isn't the full story!

The Creator could have easily avoided all this by simply not making deadly meteors to begin with. -

Judicial meeting questions.
by Fader812 inwhy do elders ask such perverted questions during judicial meetings?
kinda creeped me out, actually creeped me out a lot.

I was involved in various judicial committees during my time as elder. Though now I look back with regret at the fact that I even participated in such a disgusting arrangement, my conscience is somewhat clear in that I made it a goal to help the accused feel as least uncomfortable as possible.
Thing is, as Elders, we are told that the level of repentance should correlate with the magnitude and gravity of the sin, and thus depending on the personality, intellectual capacity and the tact of the individual Elder, it can become the case, quite often, that one might go overboard with their quests for details regarding the sin in question.
I myself found it a challenge not to do so, and I did witness a few occasions where my fellow committee members would begin a path of questioning that seemed unnecessary and unnerving for the accused. I would usually try to jump in and change the subject so as to prevent any further unnecessary questioning.
Then of course, there's always the perverts, but that'd be an unfair label for the majority.

North Korean Gift to "American Bastards" for Independence Day
by cofty innk has taken another important step towards having a viable nuclear arsenal with the successful trial of an icbm.. kim jong-un says new missile is 'gift' to 'american bastards' from north korea on independence day.. one major hurdle left for kim jong-un is working out how to make his nuclear bombs small enough to be delivered by the missile.
that is not an insurmountable obstacle.. the us sate department have issued a statement stating that it "will never accept a nuclear-armed north korea".
how exactly to prevent this outcome is not clear.

It is rather interesting that the US will not accept North Korea, a country that hasn't invaded any foreign country ever, as a nuclear power, while the US themselves are "acceptable" as a nuclear power, despite the fact that they habitually invade foreign countries every few years for the past century, and having already used 2 nuclear bombs against civilians.
A nuclear capable North Korea with it's current unstable and irrational regime is in the interest of no one. It also poses a direct threat to South Korea and Japan, and by extension to their allies as well.

I don't see any viable options the US can take to prevent a nuclear ICBM capable N.Korea apart from military intervention. China and Russia both seem unwilling to put further pressure and there's not much S.Korea/Japan can do.
That fat little shit head in N.K is playing with fire.

Smiddy:
Lazarus died he paid the price for Adams disobedience ,sin.
He was resurrected to life ,so by all accounts he should be free of the Adamic sin that condemned all of humanity to death so he should still be alive walking around among us right ?
Mind blown! Thx for that smiddy

There is no evidence that man and beast came from he same soup.
That's not entirely true. Have you read the OP?

ND: Each in its own species.
The day a scientist turns a dog into a cat, I will listen.
Ok. But that wasn't your argument. You said you are "baffled" that Cofty would turn a common "Bible belt" belief that "all mankind" comes from the common ancestor Adam and proceed to make it an evolutionary matter.
I was simply pointing out that you have knowingly or unknowingly introduced a strawman, since Cofty's argument is that "all living things", including those not of "mankind", share a common ancestor, one that goes back way before Adam.

Nimble duck: It's a foregone conclusion that it is accepted in the Bible Belt that we all descend from a common ancestor. How you have made this an issue, and made it supposed proof of evolution is breathtaking.
Duck, his statement is that "all living things" share a common descendant, not just "mankind", as you've twisted in your argument.

Observation of Sam Heard at Regional Convention in Dayton, OH
by LevelThePlayingField inheard gave 3 talks at the convention.
one thing i noticed rather quickly was how stuck he was to his notes.
he rarely looked up.

IMO Heard and Losch are the worst speakers in the Body. Both barely fit for even the #3 in the Theocratic (old) school.
