one theory why tony was booted out was because he was a stickler for not changing the shunning doctrine.

he actually said the words we will never ever change it.. they are slowly deleting all of tony’s videos and now losing court cases and losing government hand outs in places like norway.. it’s looking very likely they will release new light on shunning policy after losing this latest one in norway.. .

what are the odds they coincidentally get new light from jehovah and lighten up their shunning policy ?.

There was always very little cheating going on with JWs compared to everyone else. It did happen but in very low numbers.

Beards vs. Shunning announcements

during lett’s announcement that beards are now allowed he elaborated at some length how brothers ought to feel and react to the change in policy.

he warned brothers not to resent not being able to grow beards earlier if they had wished to do so.

he also warned brothers who supported the old policy not to allow themselves to wonder what the point of doing so was now that it has changed.

Birthday yes Christmas no. Not for a while anyway.

Thing is there have been a few DFed for celebrating these and other things but now they won’t be. They could celebrate every year and worst could happen is they get sanctioned for 90 days. It’s unlikely to come to even that.

Would Lloyd have been DFed same situation now? No if he went to that much effort at all the JD meetings he would not be DFed now. Even If he has then he could use the new appeal process to overturn the decision.

What would have happened if he and millions like him never got DF’ed?

I personally know of many I can think of who got DFed over the years who now would not have been. And if they were it would only be for 90 days and then relatively easy to return

The new procedure sends out the clear message that the GB wants elders to avoid disfellowshipping people at all costs.

for those of you who are pimo, how do you feel it may be effecting your mental and physical health?

is it easy to pretend to be what you are not?

how do you feel about falsely supporting the pimi which builds them up and therefore an org you don't believe in?

The best advice for anyone taking doubts in a negative way is to reframe it.

Reframe your thoughts whatever you believe. Be content in knowing that you may not have the truth, or at least the entire truth. There is probably more to it.

This applies to both atheists and theists.

I suspect the GB will even come out and admit in the future that we may be wrong about lots of things. I also suspect most JWs know this already.

But we can still have hope in the Bibles promises even if we almost certainly don’t have absolutely the correct interpretation of the entire Bible

so there is going to be a big elders meeting for all body’s of elder this week to go over the changes.

i would imagine a great deal of the elders book is now obsolete and it would be too big a deal to update so much, maybe they will just make a new one?.

by the sound of it there are some more very large changes on the way anyway.. adjustments to handling serious wrongdoing in the congregation (s-395): a new document entitled adjustments to handling serious wrongdoing in the congregation is available in the "forms" section of the "documents" tab on jw hub.

An elders' meeting will be held within the next week to review the direction provided in this document. In addition, the circuit overseer will review this material with the elders during his next visit to the con-gregation.

has anyone got this document S395 to post? Atlantis perhaps?

I would love to be a fly on the wall in my congregations elders meeting this week. These newly bearded Elders may be wearing jumpers, sweaters and all kinds of tops. I’m sure they are loving not having to wear ties.

we have had a few messy disfellowshippings and if this new light applied they wouldn’t have been DFed and not being shunned right now.

Elders will be extremely busy now with shepherding and now all these contacting DFed ones every six months. But at least they don’t have to wear ties or suits anymore🤣

This will not be good for the individual Elders talking to all these ones who will be expressing doubts about the GB. Every six months they will be saying can we come and have another chat, the DFed one will say yes but I still think the GB are not who they claim to be

I wonder what will happen about the elders book now?

i know they're panicking and trying to gain favor with governments, former members, prospective converts & those who are teetering, all for financial worries.

still, the latest update in some ways made things worse, and if there's any jws watching it who are beginning to wake up it should be very disturbing.. starting with dress codes: they say that suits, ties & skirts are no longer required, but in so doing they admit that they were required, something not often appearing as an explicit command in print.

(similar to how lett referred to the "policy on beards" in his video, even though this direct policy wasn't made available to rank and file.

This years convention will be such a change from last year. Beards and jumpers and that’s just the elders.

then all the sister in trousers or slacks (does anyone outside the GB know what slacks are?) I didn’t know what slacks are and I’m a woman who has an interest in fashion.

The GB are in their own little bubble

what about a brother who wears a sweater to the meeting and then gets asked to volunteer to do a part? Or a sister not wearing a skirt but she is wearing slacks?

Someone should relay that clip of fat Tony Morris saying about the Norway government not giving them benefits unless they change their shunning policy then him saying WE WILL NEVER CHANGE
