Just a comment - so as not to confuse people, Kaytee and myself (twinkletoes) are using the same computer at present. Therefore this should explain the reason for the two different posters (kaytee and twinkletoes)

What are the 90 questions for Baptism?
by KAYTEE ini came into the org.
30 years ago- long before the 90 pre-baptism questions.
i wondered how the questions now come up to scrutiny with the way various countries are dealing with religions.

JWFacts - I agree entirely with your comments.
StevenYC - thanks for the link to Lady Lee's thread - it's very very interesting.
Added thought, how many of us EX-JWs, with new understanding of the bible, having cleaned our minds spiritually of what we were TOLD to believe would now be able to answer the 100+ questions.
Eventhough our spiritual knowledge is far greater than that prior to baptism

Has anyone ever been to a Christadelphian meeting?
by twinkletoes insince i have been out of the jws, i have found the freedom to look into other beliefs.
i remember when i was in the org.
how they used to say that the christadelphians are so similar in beliefs to the jws that they must be controlled by satan, especially as they do not beleive in satan as a person/individual.

Hi everyone
Since I have been out of the JWs, I have found the freedom to look into other beliefs. I remember when I was in the Org. how they used to say that the Christadelphians are so similar in beliefs to the JWs that they must be controlled by Satan, especially as they do not beleive in Satan as a person/individual. I haven't been to their meetings, but have read quite a lot about them from their own website.
thanks

hello all - new here
by GoingGoingGone inhello everyone, this is my first post.... i'm in the process of fading after being a jw my entire life (almost).
i don't go to meetings anymore..... hubby's an elder, and boy, is he mad.
he still makes the kids go with him to meetings, service, etc... they hate it and i feel sorry for them, but there's not much i can do about it.. i've been feeling lonely today, i do miss my friends sometimes, and i have really good friends, but since i don't go to meetings i never see them much anymore.

welcome GGG, its so good to have you join us. I too spent 30+ years as a JW. Fortunately, I and my husband saw the real truth about the Org. and came out together, along with two friends from our congregation. We read crisis of conscience and In search of christian freedom and of course with all of the great help from others on this forum managed to come to terms with everything. We thought that we had good friends in the cong. but when we left (UN scandal, failed prophecies etc) everone shunned us and continue to do so. We now realise what a mind controlling cult they really are.
I look forward to hearing more from you.

We were JWs for nearly 32 years. Until one day our youngest son came across by accident the info about the UN scandal on this site. He told us - we couldn't believe it and after a lot of research with almost instant replies to our questions, we started to see the JWs for what they really are. Our thanks go to Simon Angharad and all of the posters here. Even short little comments are so encouraging especially when you are still feeling guilty about coming out of the Org. The icing on the cake for us was reading Ray's books C of C and In search of christian freedom.
A big thank you to all

What are Born-Again Christians going to do if 616 is the # of the beast?
by booker-t inpleasuredome posted a very interesting post about the number of the beast of rev is not 666 but is actually 616. he mentioned that scholars have found remains of old new testament fragments that actually show the number is 616. will born-agains announce that they have been wrong on this for over 2000 years when the apostle john wrote the book of revelations?
i have always thought christians put to much emphasize on the number 666 and trying to make it a real person such as hitler, nero, president reagan, president clinton, etc; i have always felt the book of revelations is symbolic and cannot be taken so literally.
i think many born-agains and other christian group are going to be shocked when they realize that they have been misled by their ministers and religious leaders.

What do born-again christians beleive about the number? We have neighbours who are born-again, but do not appears to go deeply into the scriptures.
