Asking Her Out - Follow Up - Advice?
by Garrett insoooo..... going to ask that wonderful lady for her phone number tonight as per everyone's advice... first time i will ever be doing that with a non jw girl...erm...woman.
my dear female friends, what are some genuine questions i can pose to get a conversation rolling and what are some other questions/things i can ask/say to restart a stalled conversation?
i'm very very shy when talking to new people... especially someone i'm interested in, and have some social anxiety.

I would say, ifyou notice something beautiful about her, don't internalize that thought. Say it right away, but don't be too fawning, that would be creepy. Girls DO like compliments tho. Don't do the phone picture thing (sorry fmf!) that would just be bragging.
Ask her to share an adventure with you, outdoors. Kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, whatever is nearby.

This part!!!
"Public edition of The Watchtower and Awake!: Beginning in January 2016, the magazines for the public will be published bimonthly, that is, every two months. We will offer one magazine to the public each month, alternating between The Watchtower and Awake! During January, we will offer The Watchtower. During February, we will feature subjects in Awake!, and so on. This arrangement will allow us to focus on the appealing information in each magazine for the entire month. In addition, an issue date will no longer be printed on the cover. Instead, the magazines will be identified by a number followed by the year. Why is this helpful? We often would like to offer older magazines because the message is just what the householder needs. However, the date on the cover may give the impression that the information is out-of-date. That will no longer be an obstacle. We are confident that you will offer the life-giving information in the magazines with renewed enthusiasm."
THIS IS HUGE! And it's written so Orwellian...'This arrangement will allow us to focus on the appealing information in each magazine for the entire month.'
Um, that is NOT the reason! The public magazines were 4 a month FOREVER! And then 2 a month for a short while, and suddenly ONE a month. ONE. And the same magazine is printed only once every two months. The implications are huge. A very severe cutting back of costs, to be sure. 'Renewed enthusiasm', oh the GALL!!
As for the meeting names, treasure, gems...you can see where their heart is!!!

Signature Quote - what do you think?
by Muddy Waters ini apologize for the self-serving nature of this post.. i first said this to a lovely person here to encourage her and add a bit of humour to a harsh situation, but i've fallen in love with my own words, ha, and would like to use a variation of what i said to her as my new signature quote.
it's a bit long, and could become tiresome eventually, but do you forum members think that you might like (or could tolerate, heh) seeing this on my posts?.
.... "may god, or the universe, or airborne spaghetti, or energies or wavelengths or frequencies, or quantum particles that somehow attract things to us, or telepathic manipulation by aliens -- bless you.

I agree with Steve2. The first part is too rambling for using it often.
Maybe 'May you have a good day. And if your day is not good, may you find at least a moment of something good.'

Steve2, the only education they deem worthwhile is the ability to read, so they can give people a brainwashing through their literature. Seriously, do they really like education otherwise? Science conflicts with their doctrine, history conflicts with their 'facts' and can generate divisive patriotism, literature often encourages independent thinking and/or lewd thoughts, and math is just so reasonable. Don't even start with philosophy or sex education. -

I just want to say welcome, and please research the religion very carefully before making the huge commitment of baptism. And again, welcome! You seem so friendly and sweet. -

Our oceans are way, way overfished. As you said, farm raised isn't the way to go either.
i think just cutting back is the best option. Meat only on weekends?

Where you are in your life now.....What would you have preferred .... To be left in ignorance ? ...Or to know the truth about the truth
by smiddy ini think possibly their are a few valid reasons for either options to this question ,depending on a number of factors .. such as how old you might be, how long you have devoted your life to the "truth" as you believed it .
?....how it may affect your mental/physical health and well being.?.
how it will affect your financial position in your life ,?

I get to do volunteer work that actually has meaning for me now. Through my church, I deliver Christmas gifts to underprivileged children, and also children whose dads are in prison, with a note from their dad. This means a lot to me. I visit elderly people who are stuck in their beds, deliver them flowers and make them still feel part of their community. I no longer have to be a watchtower drone, doing whatever they ask of me according to their own interests.
The benefits are countless, really. I was in for almost 4 decades. Time to start living my own life and doing what I believe in. Time to be an active member of my community. Time to stop thinking of everyone else as being 'worldly.' Ive mostly lost my birth family, and I love them and miss them, but thank God my husband and all of my children are not lost to me. We can be together, always, and there's nothing a bunch of men in a little room can do about it.
As Caleb said in another thread, leaving was the smartest thing I've ever done. There is no question.
